Very Japanese Salaryman hotel

Reviewed By manisfeld

Located in central Shizuoka, close to City Hall, this is a very Japanese style hotel. The bedroom was clean and the bed was soft. On the negative were: have to remove shoes in the hotel lobby and place into a locker (which requires 100-yen coin - returned when you get your shoes back); Japanese only TV; all signs in Japanese; breakfast only Japanese food. One staff member at reception spoke limited English; greetings in the lobby from small Japanese speaking robot; also not permitted to stay in the hotel between 10:00 and 15:00. If you like your room to have a pale blue ceiling with clouds, this is the hotel for you.

A WELL MAINTAINED REALLY GOOD HOTEL IN THE HEART OF FUJI CITY

Reviewed By VGNAIR06

A really remarkable hotel in the heart of Fuji City with well appointed and very spacious rooms and large bathrooms that gives excellent service at very fair prices. The hotel provides choice of break fasts either Japanese or Continental with a set menu in the coffee floor on the ground level. Excellent services. The price is just one third of or even less than that of Tokyo hotels. It is definitely a very good and affordable choice for travelers on vacation or on work.

Okay hotel, strange town

Reviewed By François V

Friendly staff, comfortable bed, good bathroom and good shower, small onsen at 2nd floor, Wi-Fi is ok, room is dark and quiet for a good sleep. Breakfast is varied: boiled rice, fried rice, miso, salmon, raw eggs, different kind of fried meat, fried and cooked vegetables, (sweet) bread, butter, marmelade, coffee/tea/water/juice. Small room, hotel is not cosy, no common area, bit expensive cause there is actually nothing to do in this town. I won't recommend to go to this town at all; it's not nice and has a strange atmosphere. There are a lot of weird clubs in the neighborhood...

Highly recommended

I stayed here only for 1 night but the rate firstly was very comparable to what else is around in Fuji, the view of the mountain is killer! The rooms are definitely large for japan standards. The staff spoke a bit of English so that was helpful. It’s close to an abundance of restaurants. Caters for smokers if you want that, I wound highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Poor customer service, shady business practices

Reviewed By OkiFamily

We would have left a much better review, had we not been fleeced by the hotel in regards to parking. This is a good, basic hotel if you just need somewhere to sleep & bathe. It is newer and clean, and the rooms have all the necessary amenities despite their small size. There is a coin-operated laundry available (200yen for washers, 30yen for soap... dryers were always full, so we hung out clothes to dry in the bathroom). Breakfast is very basic... miso soup, rice, salad. It is next door to the station if you are traveling by shinkansen. We were charged for parking for our entire stay despite never using the lot. On the first day, we told them we would not be using the hotel lot as it was farther than we were told and there were safer and closer lots nearby for the same price (500yen/24hrs). The hotel refused to refund us the money they charged us for the parking we never used and did not want. We did speak with a supervisor and got nowhere. Based on this lack of customer service and fraudulent charging, we would not recommend others stay here. I have noticed this issue in other reviews as well.

This was great accommodation! The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating going so far as to pick us up from the train station on our arrival. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the rooftop area was perfect. Bicycles were also provided to help us see more of the area. We even got traditional Japanese breakfast included, an experience in itself. Much recommended!!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Reviewed By Kyle G

The hotel is in the middle of an industrial park. It smells horrible outside but better than the hotel inside. It smells of stale cigarettes and old people. The blankets have cigarette burns, the rooms are dirty and VERY OVERPRICED. Beds are uncomfortable and the mattresses are badly in need of replacement. Carpet is 1mm thick(maybe) and has not been vacuumed recently. TV is small, owners are demanding and not considerate of their clients. I would recommend staying under the bridge across the street as it would smell better and be cleaner.
