The name suggests that they serve healthy fish. Though this is just another deep fry corner. The drinks need to be ordered inside and paid straight away. The food needs to be ordered inside by yourself and paid straight away and the guest gets a pager when he can collect the prepared food inside. Very unfriendly staff without any service minded attitude. You do not miss anything passing by.

Oase

My husband and I had dinner last night at Oase and will never return. The food is adequate but the attitude of staff, both the waitress and manager, were extraordinary. Perhaps the language barrier accounted for the first problem. I said I would like sparkling mineral water and then my husband said he would like a large bottle. We were surprised to be brought two glasses (one small, one large) rather than the bottle. We then tried it and found it to be totally flat. We told the waitress this and asked her to please bring a bottle Mathis she did, but no additional glasses. I drank part of my water and poured the rest into the large glass so that we had one empty one into which to pour the new water. Later in the meal I handed the waitress the full glass to take away. When presented with our bill, we were charged four euros for the flat water! I pointed out that it had been unsatisfactory and she said we had drunk one glass and the absolute best they could do was charge us for one instead of two. We had only drunk their poor water to free up a glass. She then involved the manager who supported her position. I cannot recommend this restaurant!

We had lunch on a busy day and despite the crowds had good service and enjoyed our mussels. The portions of chips seemed small but we weren't charged for the additional chips we requested.

We stopped here for lunch recently with friends from England and all of us had the fish-and-chips. The food was scrumptious, the service friendly and the restaurant in a wonderful location: outdoor seating overlooking a canal and far enough away from the harbor to remain quiet. The space is very upscale and modern but the feel was cozy and the prices were right.

We had lunch here when we came of the ferry from Terschelling. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a good atmosphere. Nice laid back music, friendly staff and many teas. We had a starter platter to share and the soup of the day. All very tasty and fresh. The coffee afterwards was als very good.Highly recommended for lunch in Harlingen.

Restaurant 't Havenmantsje

My date took me out to this ‘upper class’ restaurant. We sat out in the conservatory, which looks absolutely gorgeous. Very modern and sleek. The restaurant offers good service and high quality food. The dishes are real eye-catchers: every course looked beautiful. The only thing was: I didn’t enjoy the food so much. I felt like they were trying too hard. Putting so many flavours into such a tiny dish (I mean seriously, it was just one or two bites in a dish) is just too much! There was hardly any balance between the foods and flavours and I felt that they let these beautiful products go to waste by adding so much stuff. Personally I just like a good plate of real food. Nothing too fancy, just good flavours and enough food on my plate. So this restaurant and it’s eye-catching dishes are just not my cup of tea. But if you’re really into kickshaw and you have plenty of cash (it’s an expensive restaurant - fortunately my date was really nice ;)), this could be the place for you.
