During a recent trip to Friesland we had lunch at this rtsaurant. It is located very near the Lauersmeer and a lovely old building. For lunch we decided to have starters from the a la carte menu, rather than just a sandwish. Wise choice: we had a great meal, not too large but very tasty and imaginative. We started with a cold choice of smoked salmon, smoked eel and lovely tiny shrimp from the North Sea. After that we had well prepared scallops and a little fish-croquette, a bit like a crab-cake. A lovely Viognier form the South of France was a good companion to the food. The smoked eel came from a local "smoker" and the tiny shrimp were locally caight and peeled. Great place!

We walked around Dokkum quite hungry. I wanted a hamburger because I live in Germany where the burgers are horrid. In the Netherlands they are really becoming a gourmet burger competitor with the US. So we kept walking around looking for a place and walked by this cute little restaurant a few times. We wanted outdoor seating in the shade (it was quite hot that day). Well I found a table in the shade and we ordered their burger with the "baked" potato which is actually like a roasted potato in the states. They were crisp and absolutely delicious. The burger was amazing. The spices were quite unusual but they were so good. It was a perfect lunch and we were so impressed with the staff as well. It is really a cute place and we will definitely stop back there the next time we are in Dokkum.

We verblijven een paar dagen in een B&B in Dokkum en omdat onze dochter van bijna 5 maanden lekker in haar bedje lag te slapen besloten we om tapas af te halen.We hebben lekker zitten smikkelen van de smaakvolle hapjes. Echt een aanrader! En ook nog eens voor een prima prijsje.
