Tahiti and Bora Bora are the most well known French Polynesian islands, thanks to their picture-perfect beaches and romantic ambiance. Indeed, these islands are ideal for handholding, with their lush landscapes and mood-setting features like lagoons and grottos. The heart-shaped island of Mo’orea makes a wonderful base for divers and snorkelers eager to explore its surrounding barrier reef system. Feeding the massive, sacred eels of Huahine is a one-in-a-lifetime way to experience an important local ritual.

Works of art these all natural "fare" create a univers as magic as a child dream. On a plateau, facing the sea and the sun set, each bungalow can sleep 1 to 4 persons with private kitchen and bathroom. Vanira means vanilla in Tahitian. Vanilla, as in the sweetness, harmony and tranquililty you'll find during your stay at Vanira Lodge.
This is not a resort and dont go to Vanira unless you like to be well off the beaten path in the middle of a peaceful jungle. Each lodge is unique and hand crafted from local materials. The lodges are open to outside so be prepared to share with a few bugs and few small lizards. They are spread out and each one is very private. The grounds are lush and beautiful, the pools are welcoming and the staff wonderful. There are bikes to borrow, but they are in pretty rough shape and the last short hill back to the lodge is a killer. We had dinner there one night and it was very good. Possibly due to the world slowly awakening from Covid, open restaurants are a challenge to find nearby. STRONGLY suggest the roadside food trucks. Oh my goodness the food is outstanding and cheap. Many restaurants are open odd hours and odd days.

Goodness. What can we say? Dreamy. Truly the best vacation ever. We came to Motu Ahuna after 3 days in Pape’ete— which is akin to Honolulu in my opinion. Loud, and fast paced. The Motu was wonderful. The host, Tea, is excellent at communicating. The caretaker Tatiana is so attentive. Truly— we would be gone for a few hours and come back to the Villa being perfectly cleaned. I felt so bad. This is not what I expected her to do for us. She is a very very hard worker— and her goal is for the guests to be comfortable and very happy. Joel, the groundskeeper, kept the place immaculate. The sand was raked beautifully. We never saw him do it— but it always looked freshly done. Blew our minds. Julien made us such a beautiful welcome gift. I cried. It’s rustic. Don’t expect a resort. But you shouldn’t be booking this if you want a resort. This is for the traveler who loves authentic Polynesian life. For the person who understands an island is a living, breathing part of the Earth. I truly fell madly in love with the Motu, the people, the lagoon and those views. Coffee on the pontoon each morning for sunrise and dinner for sunset… I cannot believe we came home to work the fast pace again. I cannot believe we didn’t beg Tea to adopt us and let us work our life away on the Motu. Ha ha. (Mostly kidding…) For other travelers: Be prepared. Bring twice as much water as you think you need. Bring food. Plenty. It’s a dorm size fridge. Don’t over pack it— they aren’t built for having filled chock full. And above all, remember to respect these incredible people… learn about them. They are worth knowing. For the person who stayed here Oct 2021– and left the horrible reviews everywhere—I feel confident they should’ve been in a resort but couldn’t afford it; So the Ahuna team suffered for his shortcomings. Shame on him. The Villa is very well equipped. A briquettes grill, open air grill, gas stove and oven (it’s not new but it’s not ancient. I’m confident it was in place when the other traveler visited!) were all in place. French Press coffee makers, boil coffee pot… a dorm size fridge (not the tiny one— the large size you’d find in an RV) is in place. The bedroom villas are identical. I have video of both rooms. The living room couches are incredibly cozy! It’s open air living. So expect the wind to blow minute bits of sand, the rain to blow in around the edges at times, bugs, geckos, and other island animals to co-habitate. You’ll need to wipe down the counters before use— as weather does happen and it’s very normal. We did not experience crabs or rodents here, such as our friends did in other options in FP. This was clean. Rustic—But clean. Authentic. I had a medical need, urgently, on Christmas and Tatiana, Joel and Oro took us to town immediately. I cannot explain how amazing they are. Oro was my little hero… ♥️ Tatiana, “Momma” as we call her, kept me wrapped up, and helped get us safely to town, while Joel— such a GOOD man— moved mountains to take care of us and carry us safely to Vaitape and back. Joel and my significant other hit it off. They talked for hours one day. These people are now forever in our hearts and in our family. In all—- despite my medical need— the trip was magical. Authentic. We regretted leaving it for Mo’orea/ Tahiti for the final 4 days of our trip. It was literally dreamy! We feel so blessed to have experienced this place… and the people. Planning our return already. ♥️

Nice Bed and Breakfast located in front of Bora Bora and Relais et Chateaux of the motu Tautau. Two charming bungalows waits for you in a flower garden of Tiare flowers. One bedroom suite with sitting room. The bungalows and rooms are equipped with a small refrigerator and a comfort tray with kettle tea and coffee making facilities. We have equipment for children in low ages with a high chair and a special buoy for babies. Armbands are also available.
I've read of this pension on t.a. and have booked. One of the best choice of my trip! Muriel has always answered my email (many!) while planning my trip and helped me so much with organising our transport and enjoy all the minutes on this wonderful island. She is so lovely and makes all to let u feel like home. She loves cooking amd you can test/taste it in her meals...very special, made with all the local ingredients and so a delicate taste. I and my husband loved her cusuine! In the half-pension is included the "little" breakfast (as she says?) with a plenty of food (local fruits, baguette, homemade marmelade and coconut-bread and yoghurt etc...) and the dinner and every evening the aperitiv with punch and something that she prepares to eat. Frank bring you to the excursion. We couldn't french but Frank let us always understand what he meaned. He brought us to the coral garden (what a beatiful experience with him!) and the following day we wanted to spend the time again there, so he drop off us there and came to pick up us in the afternoon. We tried to see the coral garden alone, but it was not so easy (be carefull when there!) as he brought us through the coral garden! They brought us also to the perl shop where they show you as they make the pearls and you can buy, if u want. Also very beatiful! The room very clean. They don't change the linen every day, but in a paradise like this you won't care about it! If u don't have beach towels, Muriel will give u some. We have so enjoyed the time there, with them and hope that one day we could come back again to see them and spent other days on this beautiful island. Thank you very much for all, Muriel and Frank! "You are special person!"

Beautiful private villa beach front located on a private island. Motu Fareone on which Villa Corallina is located, is a stunning little island inlaid like a green jewel into crystal-clear, turquoise waters of Moorea's famous lagoon, just across the channel from the main island of Moorea that offers a haven of peace and intimacy. Motu Fareone is not just any resort. It is a private island where the owners live and rent out just that single Villa to their lucky guests.
This was the place for our perfect honeymoon ! Marco and his wife are such nice persons and we will never forget this place ! We will go back there soon... It was an unforgettable adventure for both of us.

The hill side location is beautiful and the deck and house layout is good. Having a kitchen to cook your own food was also nice. The owner of our house though didn't advise of some shortcomings in advance. We found out on arrival that the water is not potable and the owner of our place didn't have an internet connection or wifi setup. The place was also missing some of the basics, like a cork screw (the one in the house was broken), no salt and pepper, and it only had AC units in the bedrooms. I believe these shortcomings were unique to the house we were assigned because friends staying at other houses had more provisions.

These bungalows are very well priced as they are located directly on the beach. Free breakfast every morning which we found a lot of other places on Moorea don’t provide. It is in a great location too, 100m walk from shops and restaurants. If you walk 5 minutes to hotel Les Tipaniers you can hire out kayaks. This hotel is the closest point to where the shark and stingray location is that all the tour boats go to. Highly recommend saving your money and just getting a kayak and paddling 100m to the shark and ray location. The best part of Fare Vimoana was the management, the lady who was running it was one of the friendliest, most helpful people we came across throughout our 3 week stay on the island. She really made the stay there very comfortable and enjoyable. Definitely worth a 5 star rating !!

Wow, fantastic location. BUT....... do NOT,NOT, NOT agree to stay in the garden bungalow. There are three beach bungalows. Ours was fine. A little more modern than we like since we prefer the more authentic construction with natural materials, but OK. There were clean sheets, of course, but the pillows underneath were so mildewed and old that within an hour of laying down, even I was sneezing. And I have no allergies. Don't even ask about my wife!. We took another sheet from the other bed and rolled the pillows up inside. This worked for two nights. We should have thrown the pillows out. We were supposed to move to the garden bungalow for two nights since Raita had double booked the beach front. It was AWFUL, and not an acceptable place to stay, definately not somewhere you would pay to stay in. I don't think anyone had stayed there for months. Very, very poor. Old plastic grungy chairs, certainly not clean, the roof falling in, no flowers outside or in, junk all around the outside. Inside was a hopeless insult. We refused to stay there and left early. Food: excellent. Very good and plentiful with bottled water. We were never offered a drink other than water. Our french is almost non-existent, and I realize this is our problem, but there was not really any effort by the patrons (or the other guests) to include us in conversation, (and my wife loves to talk). We were not offered any excursions whilst there. We enjoyed our two days because we loved the beautiful spot, the incredibly clear water, the food, the romance of the Robinson Crusoe setting, the peace and quiet.

Set alongside Matira Beach, Village Temanuata offers traditional Polynesian-style bungalows offering direct beach access. Guests enjoy free snorkelling equipment and there are kayaks available on-site. The family-run Temanuata Village Resort is just 300 metres from dining options and shops. Vaitape village is 7 km away. It is a 40-minute bus and ferry ride from Bora Bora Airport. All bungalows feature a patio, a refrigerator and a ceiling fan. Each has a private bathroom with a shower. Mosquito nets are available upon request. The tour desk books diving, sailing, island trips and submarine tours. You can relax on the beach sun loungers or indulge in a massage.
Please kindly stay away from this place. Filled with cockroaches. Quite unsafe as well. Had to check out immediately. Management totally liars and playing hardball to provide refund. Hopefully the government of French Polynesia shuts down this place.
