Tahiti and Bora Bora are the most well known French Polynesian islands, thanks to their picture-perfect beaches and romantic ambiance. Indeed, these islands are ideal for handholding, with their lush landscapes and mood-setting features like lagoons and grottos. The heart-shaped island of Mo’orea makes a wonderful base for divers and snorkelers eager to explore its surrounding barrier reef system. Feeding the massive, sacred eels of Huahine is a one-in-a-lifetime way to experience an important local ritual.

LINAREVA Moorea Beach Resort is a traditional French Polynesia holiday Family home. An ideal lovely small hotel for lovers of nature, away from big touristic centers, but with every modern convenience and much more. Located on the wild side of the island, close to the famous surf spot of HAAPITI.
The owners/managers of this resort only bought the Linareva 10 months ago so please don’t let older poor reviews disuade you from staying here. My wife and I have travelled all over the world and we would be hard pressed to name nicer, more gracious hosts. Thank you for everything, David and Vanessa! The staff were also sweet and personable. Basil, the groundskeeper, picked us avocados off the tree. Rumia, who speaks better English than I do, was a delight- always patient and helpful. Selemene was always smiling and pleasant. The resort is located in an especially lovely part of Moorea. The view from the kayaks out on the water looking back on the beach is stunning. The first time we saw it, it took our breath away. You have free access to the recreational equipment at this resort. There are kayaks, snorkeling equipment, lifejackets, fishing equipment, and bicycles. There is an accessible fridge stocked with different wines and beers that is run on an honor system. You write down your name and what you take out. It’s a great system as the fridge is accessible at any time of the day or night. At the end of the dock, you can watch and safely swim with various fish and non aggressive sharks. We even saw a Manta Ray and a large turtle. On the grounds of this resort are many different fruit trees. There is passion fruit, bananas, avocados, starfruit, and papyas. . It is important that you understand that the Linareva is not the Hilton. We had the smallest bungalow and it was located close to the road. Therefore, we could hear traffic noises at right. Other bungalows are larger and likely quieter. However, our bungalow was very clean and there was a kitchenette that we used a lot. Our stay at the Linareva will stand out in our memory as one of our highlights of French Polynesia. One last thing- one of the most endearing things about the owners of this resort is the story about how they came to adopt the resort’s lovely dog, Lucky. I will leave it to the owners to tell the story but it will bring a tear to your eye.

The facilities were more than expected. They were clean and well supplied with amenities. The garden and pool area were well maintained. I would definitely recommend Bora Bora Holiday's Lodge and Villa. The hostess was friendly and accommodating. For me especially, she went out of her way to make an appointment with French Polynesia's most famous tattoo artist. He is always busy and I had tried many times prior to the trip to make an appointment. Getting a tattoo in Bora Bora was a lifetime dream of mine (I'm 82) and she made it possible. I cannot thank her enough.

Me and my wife stayed here for 2 nights after a great stay at the intercontinental thallasso. We wanted to stay on the main island and get the feel for the island and we did. But I’m going to be completely honest with you. Coming from the overwater bungalows to the main island hotels is a Big difference but that’s kind of expected knowing some of the hotels are privately owned and not by a huge luxury branch but the pictures are not what you see when you get there. The water isn’t as nice, the beach area is super small unless you go to the public beach’s which you could walk a couple miles or rent a scooter(recommend the scooters) and the hotel restaurant isn’t that good. When I first arrived, I seen a couple there and the woman looked really unimpressed and unhappy but I’m guessing because he told her she was going to bora bora mad probably didn’t take her to the bungalows at Conrad or intercontinental. So what I’m saying is this, Fellas… if you’re trying to impress your girl and want to give her a “luxury” bora bora experience, intercontinental thalasso is what you want and not the hotels kn the main island. Don’t waste your money or time taking her here unless, she’s a super down to earth girl who likes adventure, wild dogs walking around, back packing and eating very little lol. I’m just being honest but if you want to go to bora bora and just want to get there on a budget and want a clean spot to sleep with cold a/c and wifi, this is the spot. But beware the restaurant attached to the hotel. I had a burger fries and a mixed mango margarita and idk which killed my stomach but the next two days was a problem and the closest pharmacy is around the island which you should rent a scooter to get to. But overall the hotel is decent, 6/10 and that’s because it’s bora bora. Wild dogs walk around but they didn’t mess with me, the mosquitoes are killer and it gets hot at night on the island lol fellas do your research on the spots and your girl before going to islands like this but I Highly recommend the intercontinental thalasso overwater bungalow with the pool. It costs but man is it worth it, I could’ve died out there and would’ve been okay. No cap!

We had a fine 3 day stay at Renais Fenua. Our room was comfortable and clean. Syrill helped us along the way and spoke enough English to make things work. The food is excellent, dinners are highly recommended. The baguette was superb,as was the wonderful fresh fruit served at breakfast. The charming gardens and small pool were a pleasant place to relax. This lovely pension is recommended for the budget conscious visitor who does not require great luxury and may not be fluent in French.

We stayed in the beachfront lodge. This lodge was by far the highlight of our honeymoon. The staff (especially the hotel manager Claude) were so welcoming. The lodge was walking distance to a few shops and restaurants and also had kayaks to borrow which used to go down and snorkel. Our favourite part was the sunset which was just in front of the lodge. My husband and I would love to come back here!!

And when the ocean is flat, we like to keep active by riding our mountain bikes in the wonderful valley of Opunohu. Yes, we rent mountain bikes too! Boating, snorkeling, surfing, SUPing, mountain biking, hiking... You name it, we've got it! Booking is essential. Mauruuru maita'i. Nana, Tama at Moorea Surf Inn
This is not a resort like a Hilton or Meridien but in many ways it is much more than those places can ever be. Everyone on the island we meet in Moorea seem to know Tama and his family and we were lucky to stay with them here and experience the real Tahiti.I found out about this place through waterways travel that only sells the top exotic surf and travel destinations. The surf and bay are incredible and we got to surf next to the French surfing olympic team and that let's you know you are in the right place. Yes it is hot and bring the mosquito spray but what we learned from his family and the amazing conversations we had with them and the International guests from all over the world far outweighed any of the minor hardships.I found a lot of strength in myself I didn't even know I had just by being there, both in the surf, and at The Surf Inn with them. We will return again soon to stay and surf with them again.

My husband and I stayed for 1 night, but wish we had more time here. Teva, Phillip, Diane and their family are lovely and welcoming. We were picked up from the ferry terminal by Diane (even though we last minute booked and arrived about 2 hours after we booked!). The rooms are big and spacious and you get a massive fan, air conditioning would have made the rooms 100 times better. The bathroom is seperate but the bathroom is lovely (better than some of the hotels we were staying in). Teva and his family prepared our dinner and dessert and it was so lovely and authentic, the family sat down and enjoyed the same meal at a seperate table. We bought our beers and water and put them in the fridge in the kitchen. I would recommend this house stay to all of my friends!

The Tiputa side of Rangiroa is a very quite and wonderful place to relax. Emmanuelle's Fare bleu is directly at the beach embedded in a small and quite living area. It's clean and cozy, you can do your own cooking or take the bicycle and get your meals from the Snack. The terrace is fantastic, a wonderful place to enjoy the lagoon view, starting the day with breakfast prepared by Emmanuelle (her muffins are really delicious!) Just a few steps and you can swim or kayak in the beautiful lagoon. Emmanuelle is a great host, she knows all about the island, is very helpful with everything. We will definitely go there again.
