Plan B Hotel – Living Chamonix is a lifestyle concept where you’ll find everything you’re looking for to live the best experience in Chamonix. The hotel is built around its large living space of over 700 sqm. There, you will find a large central bar and a restaurant where healthy and local food will be served. There is also a pop-up store, a space for children, games (billiard, table football, board games), and even 2 bowling lanes to make a nod to the history of the place. Finally, for the more studious, you will enjoy the lounge area or the conference room. And don’t forget to relax at the spa! For your accommodation, you will have the choice: from a single bed in a dormitory to a 2-bedroom, fully equipped, apartment and passing through a whole series of room categories to satisfy both the solo traveler, a couple, a family or a group of friends. The location is great, just next to the main bus station that will take you to the different ski resorts (even in Italy and Switzerland) and to Geneva airport as well. Aiguille du Midi cable car is at 300 m and the city center is 5 minutes’ walk. As you can see, it is a real place of life where locals and visitors come to mingle.
The hotel is located just in a perfect location, just a few minute walk to the town center. Plan B is not a big hotel in size, but it is so packed up with excellent hotel staff. They are so friendly and very helpful. The room is a very good size with a balcony and a million dollar view. A big and comfortable bed and a flat wall tv is just a plus side. Although the breakfast is too simple, they should have more variety dish to choose from. Other than that, I love this hotel and I would strongly recommend you to check it out while you are in town. The room price is very reasonable.

Ho36 hostel is our new hotel and guest house at the foot of the slopes. We will be opening our doors on 10 December 2017 to anyone looking for a new mountain hotel experience, including young people, families and business groups. We offer beautiful rooms created by interior designers, loft spaces available for up to 10 people, shared dormitories, 2 bars, a restaurant and lots of living spaces.
Came for the Easter weekend, most places in our budget range were fullty booked. So this hostel popped up but I had my reservations being an older couple who have had our fair share of hostels. Anyway...we booked, we liked it and we highly recommend it. Cosy bar / restaurant with nice views, mixture of different types of people. Nice but basic rooms (it's a hostel). Friendly staff with a chilled singer some nights. Good cleaning standards. My only complaint would be the shower. It was basically a shower head and no holder. Great if you like in sat down showers.

We recently stayed here and had a wonderful time. We met locals from Chamonix, Alaskans, Finnish and French staying here! Every night there was a band or DJ in the main bar which was a great opportunity to socialise. Very helpful staff who were patient with our poor French language Also a HUGE discount on ski passes! I would highly recommend over other hotels in Chamonix having stayed in a few.

On night is ok, but then: the bathroom are at the 1rst floor and the dorms at the 2nd floor..so you have to move to take your shower , burst your teeth or go to toilet. In Fact there is a bathroom in the dorms but it is locked because of the covid: so they said.. Welcome is not very friendly..you must know all their rules without displaying them. And don't ask questions: because they have no time to answer it. Breakfast pretty expensive 12Euros, parking 12Euros, And you're not allowed to serve yourself. You can't cook on your own, no even a Microwave oven..; a café machine is in the restaurant but you need to ask for access. But you can it in their restaurant about 10 Euros to 20 Euros. a working room exist but most of the time is hired (associations) or closed; so excepting the dorm you haven't any place to go in this hostel. Bed are ok, but you have to make it when you arrive (even late in the evening) and so awake the dorm.

This brand new youth hostel located in Chatel, in the heart of the french alps and Les Portes du Soleil just opened its doors. A young and dynamic team of locals will lead you to a nice and cosy room or dorm. Fully equipped kitchen, TV lounge, bar, and so many more common areas will help you spending a great time here
My friend and I arranged a short ski holiday through sunweb over the New Years period - we could only go on specific dates so choice was limited. Skiing (and apres ski) was the priority so provided we got those things and a roof over our heads, we were sure it would be fine. Having said this, the holiday was, interesting, mainly because information and guidance were just not available. Therefore this review, I hope, will help others staying at Chatel 1861. Firstly, the accommodation is great - absolutely no frills - but clean with friendly staff and even a decent breakfast. However the location is NOT. Chatel 1861 is 2 miles from Chatel where everything is and there are no busses back from the town after 6pm. I didn’t see a single taxi so we were left with no other option than braving the 2 mile walk. For us it wasn’t too bad as the weather bearable (chilly but no snow), however the walk does take 45 minutes even at a brisk pace. A lot of the journey is walking on the road with no pavement. Anyone booking with sunweb, be warned that your lift passes will not be at the accommodation (as normally happens) or at the central lift station (as is described in the paperwork) so make sure you get in touch with your rep asap to track it down. Leonie (our rep) was actually based out of another hotel (2 miles from Chatel 1861) and was unable to drop our passes off to us. We had to get over to him prior to skiing on the first day which ate into skiing time (and not the greatest customer experience). In between Chatel 1861 and the village of Chatel is the Linga lift station, but be warned there is basically nothing going on here after 6-7pm (apart from a pizza place called the Sno cafe which opens late. Although this place is slightly strange as when we popped in on our mammoth walk home on night three, I was sent away as it appeared I had interrupted a family dinner despite the bar being open!!) The main bar in Chatel is the avalanche bar which was pretty uninspiring, no happy hour, no live music, and the beer selection was like a central London pub (camden pale ale, Stella and Guinness). The busses from Chatel 1861 are a bit confusing so make sure you grab a timetable from one of the “ligne A” busses. We found information about where and when they go, very hard to come by. Portes du Soleils is a great ski area but just be aware that a holiday at 1861 will involve a lot of walking and a lot of contusion!!

It was the perfect place to stay for a mixed group of all ages, singles, families, young and old. The rooms are clean and simple with very few bunk beds. Most have washbasins and showers attached. The dining room has a spectacular view down valley to the town 3 km away with all-inclusive catering to match. The lunch is brilliant and easy to return to since the hostel is virtually on the piste in the middle of the ski area, though a packed lunch alternative is bookable the evening before. A varied afternoon tea is laid on at 5.15pm. There is an attractive low priced bar and a comfortable lounge adjoining, with a welcome party and the occasional bar entertainment such as karaoke, folk singing or disco complementing ‘quieter chat and Scrabble ’ evenings. All this and the 3 or 4 course dinner makes the evenings nearly as enjoyable as the skiing. With a discounted lift pass and organised ski hire (optional) a very attractive package is offered in this delightful and varied medium sized ski area.
