Discover Restaurants offering the best European food in Parys, Free State, South Africa. Parys (pronounced /ˈpɑːreɪs/) is a town situated on the banks of the Vaal River in the Free State province of South Africa. The name of the town is the Afrikaans translation of Paris. The name was given by a German surveyor named Schilbach who had participated in the Siege of Paris during the Franco-Prussian War and the location next to the Vaal reminded him of Paris on the River Seine. The area of Parys also includes the two townships Tumahole and Schonkenville.

We actually came about this lovely spot quite accidentally. It was just off the main road, looked cosy romantic and had people in it (Parys is not a place to go for night life). The hospitality we received from the warm genuine welcome to the lovely service was incomparable. The owners are really involved in their establishment and take a lot of care to make sure everyone is happy. Can we talk about the Orangecino (think Lemoncino but with Orange) this is the only place you can get one and its Christos mothers special recipe. I highly recommend this restaurant for couples, for families and even friends wanting to meet up over a delicious meal and amazing wine.
