In the heart of Texas Hill Country, Fredericksburg is a small city with a unique German flavor in its quaint bakeries, Hauptstrasse (Main Street) boutiques and generations-old peach orchards. Weekenders from nearby San Antonio and Austin have long appreciated the charm of the city's many B&Bs and "Sunday House" Inns. The surrounding Texas Hill Country is home to lush vineyards, making up one of the country's largest viticultural areas.

My wife and I recently spent 3 very enjoyable days staying in the Hideaway Cabin at Walnut Canyon Cabins. After the hustle and bustle and extreme heat of San Antonio, even with its unique Riverwalk, the cabin and Texas Hill Country provided the low-key respite we needed. On each of our 3 evenings we sat on the cabin balcony feeding the numerous wandering deer that showed up to eat the cracked corn provided by the Walnut Canyon owners. The hills below reminded us very much of vistas in the Tuscan area of Italy. Preparing our breakfast with the provided eggs, excellent Canadian bacon from Opa’s in Fredricksburg, fresh berries, coffee, and biscuits worked out very well. We can highly recommend Walnut Canyon Cabins to all searching for lodging in the area.

What a wonderful time we had staying at Country Inn and Cottages! Our cottage was clean, comfortable, and enjoyable, with leather couch and chair and comfortable bed. We loved sitting on the porch, listening to the animals, and the quietness. The elk and deer were fun to feed and watch. Anything we requested was taken care of immediately by Jeanette. Jeff went way beyond expectations. Thank you, Jeff. We loved staying here and will definitely do so again! We would highly recommend these cottages.

Find yourself relaxing at our Fredericksburg hotel just steps away from Main Street, offering exceptional opportunities to enjoy live music, shopping, dining, wine tasting, live music and the arts. Enjoy a peaceful retreat while relaxing in your room gazing out at the beautiful landscape set along Barons Creek.
My wife and I stayed in a suite (room #126) recently. Everything was fine and we would stay here again if we returned to Fredericksburg. The Inn is about a block off of Main Street and is in a very good location for walking around the central business district. It also has a large parking lot which is helpful. The room and bathroom were decent sized and fairly nice although a little dated. Front desk personnel were helpful and they sell snacks and some food items in the lobby. Breakfast buffet was included in the room rate and was pretty basic. The price ($143) represented a very good value. No complaints from us. Recommended.

We feature romantic accommodation in historic Swiss Log Cabins or a charming Hilltop Chalet. This incredible property features well-appointed and charming cabins nestled throughout a wonderfully landscaped countryside replete with all the splendors of the Texas Hill country. Morning strolls, afternoon relaxation and evening activities were greatly enhanced by the natural beauty and grace Barons has to offer. The service was above and beyond all expectations. The Club was simply marvelous with an excellent selection of food, wine and fabulous desserts. Barons Creekside is suitable for romance, family get-togethers or just a weekend getaway. We stayed two nights on a road trip to the Hill Country. The hotel is located a short drive from downtown Fredericksburg. Our nice, clean and comfortable room was facing the large pool area. The included breakfast was very good with a large number of both hot and cold items. The breakfast area was spacious and clean. We really enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back.
