Lovely character hotel with an up to date touch. Family run and owned since 2000. Bar / Restaurant / Function Suite / Accommodation. Specialized in Weddings and large party meals and dances. Meals served daily 12 til 2pm then 5 til 9pm, 7.30pm on a Sunday, although we are closed on a Monday and Tuesday lunchtime. Our Sunday Carvery is very popular therefore booking is essential. Afternoon Teas are served from 12 til 4pm, again booking is essential. Good friendly atmosphere throughout.
Not what it used to be - went for a carvery for the first time in ages and was quite disappointed. Vegetables were swimming in tubs of water and both them and the boiled/roast potatoes were clearly out of tins or packets - quite tasteless and poor texture. Kids meal was just processed stuff too - they could do a lot better. Service was friendly but not exactly great - had to ask for a kids menu twice and they were to bring bread/toast for us while we were waiting but it never showed up. We have been a few times over the years but left really disappointed and we are highly unlikely to return when you have such excellent and vastly superior alternatives available locally such as the Davron in Rosehearty. Shame.

Findlay's Hotel offers eight tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable rooms. All our rooms are en suite and include television and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast, to compliment your stay, is served in our bright, airy and beautifully decorated conservatory.
Arrived today for lunch - two couples. We were not asked for contact details on arrival as per COVID requirements.although there was a hand sanitiser station at the entrance. Staff were not wearing face coverings. The table was dirty and my wife asked for a cloth and had to clean the table herself although we were offered another table. Her chair was also covered in crumbs and there were peas on the carpets. Thank goodness the food was good as per usual, but the cleaning standards are well below requirements.

The Saltoun Inn is a listed Georgian building situated centrally within the historic fishing town of Fraserburgh. Built by a local mason in 1801, the building has long been an attraction for both visitors and locals alike. Recently renovated, the building retains much of its original architectural features, making for a welcoming environment whether staying or visiting. The hotel offers 11spacious en-suite bedrooms whilst also offering a fully accessible disabled bedroom and free wifi throughout. Due to its central location, the hotel is ideally situated for exploring all of what Fraserburgh has to offer including the beautiful award winning sandy beach and lighthouse museum. With a non-smoking beer garden, an eclectic food and drink menu and atmospheric dining bar serving food from 7am until 11pm, the Saltoun Inn is the perfect retreat for the entire family.
Decided to go to the North of Scotland on a golfing/ancestry fact finding trip. We picked the Saltoun because of price, it's a 'Spoons and we haven't stayed in one before so we thought we'd give it a go. The room we had was teeny tiny (204) and we had to have a one way system round the room. Not sure why i had to have the smallest room when there were much larger rooms and I was staying for 3 days, but we did spend most of the time on golf courses/cemetery or in Spoons playing cards. Bed was comfy tho, we slept well! We had to leave the aircon on as the window did not open, which seems a bit daft to use up all that electricity when all i needed was a bit of fresh air. The bathroom was great, clean, excellent shower and fluffy towels. Food was a bit 'meh'. Edible...but only just. I had the pretend McMuffin on the first day and the next two mornings we headed to MaccyDs for real McMuffins. The drink however is very keenly priced and perfectly acceptable. I am curious tho as to why the carpet in our room was 1 inch short of fitting properly...

We had an absolutely wonderful experience, Cortes House has rooms of spectacular opulence and catered for our family. We would highly recommend Cortes House, tranquil and a beautiful beach within 10 mins drive. The house consists of a games room/cinema room and the grounds are truly amazing. This will certainly live within our memories for a long time. The house was also very clean.
