Dinner was ok. His ravioli was alot better than mine. My gorgonzola sauce was more like gorgonzola soup but had more flavour than I expected. Really? We should have known better than to eat directly across from the towns main tourist attraction. It was OK, not particularly cheap, but not particularly good. There are better options available in Amboise.

In the center of Amboise, city of Leonardo Da Vinci, come discover the true Italian gastronomy. On the terrace, inside or take away: pizza, pasta, salads, sandwiches, cheese, deli, desserts, wines, beer ... Our specialties (home made): - Italian tradition
Retired Parisians, an accountant and a secretary, opened this salumeria, fromagerie 10 years ago. Sit inside for a bit to watch members of the community come take away prepared meals to eat at home. You can also eat here. Most items are prepared in advance; hot meals are made so in a microwave, but the food is very good. Their pesto is the real thing. The lasagna of artichoke and speck ham was both unique and exceptional. They serve regional wines, as well as many fine Italian selections. Desserts are simple but delectable. The owners are entertaining as well as attentive. It was like having someone's mom (for those younger than us, grandmother) fix us a nice dinner. Sit,eat, relax, enjoy.

Stopped in here for a quick dinner after visiting the Chateau. It's a quaint spot with lots of locals. They serve good local wine (So I had 2 galsses ;) ) and fresh products. I had a pizza and my husband and le rebluchon. The food came up pretty quick and the price was fair. The propriatrice was really kind and you can tell she is proud if her restaurant and the products that she serves. She was really nice to us and all of the locals in her restaurant. It was about a 10 to 15 minute walk from our hotel but it was worth it.I really recommend this restaurant is you're looking for something quick and casual.

We enjoyed our meal very much. This was our first Italian meal after 7 days in France. Not like being in Italy, but still very good. Service was fine.

Our first day in Amboise and the first restaurant we saw that was open for an early lunch. The concept is great, pick the type of noodle/pasta you want then choose the sauce. Brilliant! But how is it that you can choose from 5 to 7 different types of pasta and about 5 different sauces and expect them to be great? You canât. To be blunt, the noodles were just barely ok and the sauces were the same. Did it do the job be that fill our bellies? Yup, but that is basically it.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of our gîte and we were not disappointed. We ate there on two occasions during our five night stay nearby. We loved the atmosphere and on a warm Friday night it was packed with locals and tourists alike. We did not have a reservation on either occasion but were quickly found a table. I chose a burger both times - I loved the 'St Maure' one with local goat's cheese and 'Le chicken' one was great too. The portions were a good size too. My husband had a calzone pizza both times and liked them a lot too. Our only complaint was that they need more staff, as those working there were working flat out and orders often took a long while to be served.I recommend you pay it a visit, if you're in the area.

A recommendation brought us here to this nice little family run establishment in the centre of town. Yes they offer pizza, but the also offer classic french-style country food. Madame had the Marget de Canard (classic) and I had the entrcote de boef (classic). Both nicely cooked and presented, with friendly family-style service.Absolutely worth the visit.
