Fun setting on the 55 kilometre bike path between Bordeaux and Sauveterre and set in the old railway station from when it was a rail line rather than a bike path. The food was ok ... Passable salad starter, a reasonable egg-burger and drinkable carafe of rose for â¬12.50 per head (including dessert) so good value.Downside is that the service was terrible, taking us over 2 hours for 2 courses, and having to keep reminding the waiter that we still hadn't gotten our food, nor our water, nor our wine. It took so long that we didn't stay for dessert or coffee. When we told the owner that we were passing on the rest of the meal (even though included in the price we paid) because we had run out of time due to the poor service, instead of asking us what had not worked, she got angry and said "Bad service ? Well that's just your opinion." I wasn't even looking for an apology, and we have gotten used to the fact that the French don't take criticism well, but this may be the worst reaction that we have had for a long time in any business that is reliant on customer attitudes.Very disappointing.

This restaurant epitomizes French dining. Upscale accoutrements but no pretensions. Just excellent food and wine, tasty and well presented by smiling and helpful people ........ and even a little English spoken to facilitate our experience. This meal was our last and among the best after a week in the Bordeaux area.We were actually staying at a home in Latresne, so they were just around the corner for us, but it wouldn't be more than a 25-30 minute drive across the river from the center of Bordeaux. A great experience that I highly recommend.

A pleasant dinner for 4 of us in this newly renovated restaurant.Food was elegant and well presented and "fait maison".Starters of foie gras, avocado/prawns and salmon carpaccio all got thumbs up from the group, as did the sole, scallops with cepes and entrecote.Wine list is extensive with good price range to suit all tastes and budgets.Service was very good even though place was packed on a Saturday night.I still consider this place and their sister restaurant in Paillet the best value for money in the area, and well worth a visit.

What a lovely terrace. Lots of diners enjoying lunch. Great value daily menu with ample sizes ( how people say you serve small portions is beyond me!) All the food we had was excellent with only the cheese which was still a little cold. I agree that service was a little quick (we hadn't touched our amuse before starter arrived) and there are a few flies around but I guess there is little you can do about that. A great find and good value.Dear Jamlucy,Thank you to take time for share your comments after your lunch on our terrace at Les Secrets Château Pey La Tour.We are pleased you loved our excellent quality cooking, and outstanding view from terrace. We are looking forward to welcome you again during your next trip in Aquitaine.Best Regards,Natacha CattaneCommunication

Very nice outdoor patio for dining. Staff is extremely helpful. The three of us chose different items from the carte de jour and all were very satisfied. Very nice wine list, Knowing we had a bus to catch, the staff was very attentive and got us out on time.

We've been travelling for a month in France, and of course we've been enjoying the high and consistent standards of dining, probably the best in the world! As our trip winds up, it was fitting that we had dinner at the Auberge du Petite Nice. Very reasonable p;rices for both the food and wine, great service, all-in-all a great experience to be remembered. It was busy, but I can see why.
