Le Raisin is well-deserving of its Michelin star. Although the tasting menu is only 4 courses, it is punctuated with an equal number of tantalizing (as the name suggests!) amuses bouche that combine to make what amounts to an 8 course meal. The chef is a creative, clearly frustrated architect, who produces sculptured presentations of wonderfully flavored and complex dishes. Well worth a visit!

Pay 40 euro and you get the 5 course with Bresse duck and Morilles as main. It was really outstanding Enjoy the cheese platter, and please choose some Epoisses, it was in absolute perfect condition.Be sure to go when its sunny as you will get a table under the big beautiful platanes in the back-garden. Friendly hostness and a good relaxed ambience is what you get for free.Salut.

Highly recommend this Auberge Restaurant near Montbellet. Had a terrific lunch time meal, the 44euro menu offers great value. The food tasted super fresh and very well presented. I loved the Grand-Marnier souffle !The service was attentive and professional. The wine list is very well represented with wines from Macon and Burgundy. La Marande has an outside terrace over-looking lush gardens. Located 25mins south of Tournus

Burgundy and its terroir - a typically French word to describe a region and its food specialties - is the main inspiration to the chef's cuisine. It is in this rich surrounding environment that he unearths his fine products. From the neighbouring Bresse,
After failing to get a booking at another Michelin starred place nearby, our hotelier recommended Le Relais de Montmartre. We were not disappointed, except at the prices which were nearly double what we had paid in another nearby, also Michelin starred restaurant the night before. Previous reviewers here had noted that when the chef won his Michelin star prices soared. Well, that appears to be true. Nonetheless, what is provided is a wonderful dining experience true to modern haute cuisine in a beautiful setting with fine service. The chef is clearly talented, sending out beautifully sculpted dishes that were filled with interesting flavors. Just be prepared for a bit of sticker shock! If you are not concerned about that, then consider this a strong recommendation for a must-visit place in the Macon!
