Things to do in Falaise

After reading the reviews, we booked, feeling it was probably not necessary on a cool Tuesday night. Well they were turning away folk by 8:30, so book or go early. It was a good meal - particularly the starters. We had the rillettes of fish and fried camembert. Fish and pork for mains. And crumble and cheese for pud. Good value at 23⬠for 3 courses. Relaxed and friendly ambience. Best meal of holiday so far.
Where to eat French food in Falaise: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Sunday is always a bit of a hit and miss in France but the Renaissance is one of the exceptions that makes the rule. Clearly as a "tourist" most do no associate Falaise with a holiday destination rather a stop over. So it is very much a surprise to find a restaurant that is fully able to accommodate all Europeans with friendliness, and good humour. Staff were very much "on the ball" when it came to service and presentation with English spoken to good level. Food was a very good standard, and menu choice comprehensive, portions were very substantial, certainly value for money, drinks were cheaper than expected. All in all our experience of this place was very very good. The Sunday we visited suggested that this restaraunt is popular. We arrive at 12.00 and by 12.30 the eating area inside was full of patrons. I have assume that weekdays and evenings will see the place packed to the rafters.Good Food, Good Service, Good Price, Dog Friendly, English understandable, FriendlyTicks all the boxes. So if your passing through this is a "no brainier."

Recently revisited this pretty restaurant (I actually like the decor too) and had a good quality, experience. The food was well cooked , artfully presented and the staff were reasonably efficient and welcoming. The scallops and prawns in puff pastry were an excellent starter choice and the 3 course fixed menu continued fine.I should have remembered my own previous advice and not been so extravagant with the 2 pitchers of mediocre wine @ â¬14 each .!Worth another visit though!

We went here several times under the now-retired previous proprietor, so we were a little concerned. But for no reason. The food was well prepared, cleverly constructed, Perhaps some of the flavours were a little indistinct, but we really enjoyed our meal - thank you.The little details?A frayed napkin; crumbs on the table beneth the first table-cloth which had obviously been there for a while. But we'll very happily go back. 135 euros for 4 with soft drinks.

Situated quite near the Chateau we were attracted to this little bistro because it was busy with locals, which is normally a good sign. Good range of pizzas and salads for lunch plus a very reasonably priced menu du jour. The chicken, Landon and avocado salad was very tasty. There are tables outside and inside and the service is quick and efficient. My only criticism was the limited choice of white wine by the glass otherwise a good place for lunch
