We first visited this Bistro about 10 years ago, we said that we would return if we returned to Megeve. We visited with friends, and had a wonderful evening. Great ambiance and food ( Cote du beuf ). Good wine list and friendly staff. To aviod disappointment I recommend booking first.

Le Hibou Blanc, de l'Odéon (Paris) à la montagne (Megève) ... | Café, Cocktail Bar & Restaurant | Service continu | Kitchen Open Non-Stop
We have been to the restaurant for dinner twice. First evening we have been seated even if it was busy at the second floor with a nice waiter. We tried frog legs and avocado vinnegrette and were delighted with everything. But the second time we have book a table in advance and have been seated at the terrace and it was absolutely HORRIBLE!!! The service could have been better and nicer, the waitress didnât bring menu until we asked. The heating that is hung over your heads was TOO HIGH. We were like in sauna. And it caused only a headache. We asked to make it lower 3 times during the evening and it worked just when we had already left. So never choose the table at the terrace. It doesnât worth it. And staff wasnât that nice and friendly. like in Canteen. Oysters and fondue was perfect and wine for sure. But Expected more than that.We are very sorry about your second experience. We apologize about the service.Happy you appreciated our food. Hope to see you soon.

We were seated outside quickly and were then made to wait 20 minutes before we were given a menu. When we came to order we were cordially told the afternoon menu had begun (which is very limited and runs from 2.30 till 3.30). Had we been served quicker then we would have had the full menu to choose from. The limited menu had no vegetarian option, which was a disaster for my wife. We therefore got up and left. This is the first time we have not had a great time here, but the service needed looking at the day we visited.
