Janthee Thai

We read the comments by others and we were looking forward to the chance of finding good Thai food. Unfortunately we were left disappointed.Firstly we booked a table and they hadn't actually kept one for us. Mistakes happen so we let that go (but were not impressed with their suggestion we eat in the corridor next to the toilets!)First the good points, the staff and the welcome was very good, the restaurant is well lit, tastefully decorated and pleasant. The carafe of house wine was not too expensive and drinkable, the prices were reasonable. The bad bits - the food. I ordered a green curry (spicy) that came with no spice at all in a sauce that was watery and insipid and lacked any of the promised coconut milk. My wife ordered the fillet of fish in a banana leaf. She received a "fillet" the size of a chicken nugget baked in some sort of savory cake (not what we were led to believe) She couldn't eat hers and I had to order some chillis to eat mine.It could be a great restaurant, but when main reason you go out to eat is the food then I'm afraid we will not be going back. So if you appreciate good Thai food, then avoidCher Martin,Nous sommes désolés que vous n'ayez pas apprécié votre repas dans notre restaurant.

Thai Restaurant

I have been to this restaurant twice now and had several take away meals. The food is very good but it is quite expensive, especially compared to the Chinese which used to be in its place. Nicely decorated but the atmosphere is not 'jumping'.Good experience and I will go again but not the best I have ever visited.

Chez Pailine

We were looking forward to visiting this restaurant after seeing the other reviews but our experience was not as good.My wife ordered shrimp soup but was given shrimp salad, this was replaced but with chicken soup. My thai beef salad was more viet than thai.My wifes main course was so salty that she needed to drink a litre of water when we got home. Mine was a duck red curry unlike anything I have eaten before but was not too bad. This is not a real thai restaurant, Laosian perhaps but definately not thai. Perhaps we chose the wrong dishes but it wasn't the genuine article. Was it a bad meal? - no, was it thai? - no. Will we rush back? - no
