Hotel Chateau Mont Royal has two restaurants, the formal l'Opera and the less formal Stradivarius, which comprises both a bar and restaurant. Stradivarius completely suited our taste for dinner after quite a long drive from Sussex, and the food, wine, and service were all excellent and fair value for money. You can also have afternoon tea, cocktails, and pre-dinner drinks in this room which has a wide selection of wines and spirits.

Came here at 19:30, there were people at 3 tables, the waiter asked me to sit in a table and took him 10 minutes to take my order, we did have eye contact and he continued just doing other things ( not with customers). I ordered a beer and a burger and insisted without cheese, he understood, ( even though you could feel that he wasnât that happy for communicating in English) 7minutes later I got my beer, 15 minutes later I got my burger...with cheese. I asked him to take it back, the waiter admitted that he forgot and asked if I did not wanted it because I did not like cheese, I had to tell him that is an allergy and that was important that no cheese should touch my food, the waiter left with that funny attitude like I was been a bit too much. Remember only 3 tables with customers and two waiters. I felt like I have to say sorry for being a customer. The food? Very much a âwannaâbe burger, yes they said it was organic, and probably knife chopped, but the piece of meat was quite small, tasty indeed, but I found. Small pieces of tendon or bones on it. The salad was just fine. The rest of the waiters were just fine as well( probably they remembered I was there last week for a quick drink)All for 41 EUR. Next time, next week and I will go for the sushi around the corner.Dear jos_lc,Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions about our restaurant.
