Le Relais de Chenonceaux welcome you in the muted charm of its dining room. Beams and fireplace embellish our restaurant. We offer a traditional and quality cuisine. The restaurant is open from February 1st until November 15th as well as during end of the
We stopped by for lunch after visiting the castle. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and price of the food, especially the galettes (dark salty crêpes). On the other hand the portions are fairly small, and seriously make sure there isn't a bus full of 50 tourists arriving otherwise you'll be stuck there for two hours before getting your food.

It all started so well. The ambience is superb, the waiter was attentive and informative. The chefâs amuse bouche consisted of a delicious beetroot mousse, a greasy chicken spring roll and a toffee apple like tomato. Good, worse, bad. The home made Pate foie Gras was ok, but covered in raisins, etc. The cook must have a very sweet tooth. The main course was sent back. The filet mignonette was dry as a shoe sole. The replacement was better, although the thick gravy was just that, gravy. The mashed potatoes were cold. The truffles tasted like charcoal. The recommended Amboise red wine was thin, not full bodied. Very other restaurant in Amboise has been fantastic. This one is to be avoided. One gets the feeling that they will sell out no matter what they serve, so why bother?

In the center of Amboise, city of Leonardo Da Vinci, come discover the true Italian gastronomy. On the terrace, inside or take away: pizza, pasta, salads, sandwiches, cheese, deli, desserts, wines, beer ... Our specialties (home made): - Italian tradition
Retired Parisians, an accountant and a secretary, opened this salumeria, fromagerie 10 years ago. Sit inside for a bit to watch members of the community come take away prepared meals to eat at home. You can also eat here. Most items are prepared in advance; hot meals are made so in a microwave, but the food is very good. Their pesto is the real thing. The lasagna of artichoke and speck ham was both unique and exceptional. They serve regional wines, as well as many fine Italian selections. Desserts are simple but delectable. The owners are entertaining as well as attentive. It was like having someone's mom (for those younger than us, grandmother) fix us a nice dinner. Sit,eat, relax, enjoy.
