Zuzulua was suggested to us by a resident of the area, and it provided a welcome change from glitzy, touristy restaurants. The décor was modest (wood and windows), and most of the customers seemed to be people who lived nearby, but the Basque cuisine was hardly downscale. All four of us raved about the dishes we ordered, and wine, chosen from a moderate list emphasizing wineries of the region, was delicious. Zuzulua was a bit off the beaten path, but worth searching out.

What a beautiful village, what a great time!!! The quality of this restaurant with a little terrace overlooking church, the mountain and the most beautiful little village in the heart of the Basque Country!Incredible "Omelette aux Cèpes", "Cote de Boeuf", "Cote d'Agneau" and desserts... You have to visit the South West of France and the Basque Country...

The Xurassco serves roasted meat or stockfish. The food was genuine but cooked without finesse, served the Portuguese way with french fries and rice. The portions are big, but the price is nearing that of a menu in a traidtional restaurant. Extremly unpleasant were the crude jokes of the French owner at the expense of his Portuguese wife who is doing the cooking.
