We were for lunch on a Monday in restaurant just beside of the "Marktplatz". It took a while to order the drinks and food and took even longer until the food arrived... the menu was "lasagne bolognese" fresh and well prepared and on the other hand "cheese spätzle", I personally had some really bad digestive problems after the "Spätzle", don't know why but it ended up with diarrhea :(

We stopped at this town on a river cruise. I chose to challenge my husband to mini golf before we saw the rest of of the town. It was fun and although he got two hole in ones, I still beat him by 10 strokes. We then set off to climb the winding road up to the monastery and with the map in hand, all the other historical sights. We then saundered back into town for a look around before we went back to the boat.

A pleasant experience on the way to St. Stephan's Church. Sit inside or outside on a flower decorated patio. Easy walk from the Rhein where the river cruise boats dock. The food is excellent and the desserts are to die for. Try the Black Forest cherry chocolate cake.

Had the freshest salad with grilled porcini mushrooms and topped with an egg for 1 meal, then a wonderful pumpkin soup and beef bourguignon paired with pinot noir. Excellent! Breads are homemade, as are the breakfast jams.Dear SandraBaja, thank you very much for your really kind comment and your great rating. It will be a pleasure for us to welcome you again in our Kapuzinergarten.Best wishes, Engelbert Hau
Where to eat Pizza food in Neuf-Brisach: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Several friends had recommended this little restaurant on the outskirts of Breisach; and today we had our first (and definitely not last) meal there. There were five of us, and everyone loved his or her choice, the food straightforward and delicious, the portions generous. The decor is modern without frills but with fresh flowers on window sills and on every table. In summer there are tables under trees. Parking is easy.A little jewel well worth looking for.

We had a lunch at this large German restaurant as part of a hiking tour. The food was well-prepared. And like many German restaurants, it was more than ample. Indeed, the portions were overwhelming. The restaurant's location along the Rhine was very good, but you could not see the river from inside where we sat.

Pizzeria Rustica's new location (I think they used to be next door if I'm not mistaken) is in a fully restored old barn/warehouse, and is a beautiful, open and airy space. The main room is large and can get noisy when crowded, but there is also a nice smaller room through the interior sliding barn door that we prefer. It also has a very large terrace with a LOT of seating, however, it lacks ambiance and is really just a concrete patio. Some additional landscaping/potted plants, etc., would soften the terrace. The food itself is excellent, and provided in reasonable quantities. We've eaten at many pizzerias and Italian restaurants throughout Germany over 15 years of traveling there, and this ranks up there as one of the best for food in my opinion. Service was attentive and professional and we had no complaints on any of our several visits. The location itself is just outside the old town, and is a short and easy walk from most of the old town/center hotels. There is also plenty of free parking in their (smallish) lot and on the streets nearby.

This review is aimed at (a) those who are on a Rhine river-boat cruise; (b) those whose boat makes a stop at Briesach long enough to linger ashore; and (c) those who wish to "go native" and eat off the boat.If you fit the criteria above, do have dinner at Kaiserstuhler Hof, a leisurely 15-minute walk from the town's docking area to Richard Muller Strasse, where the family-owned hotel/restaurant takes pride of place. But don't linger too long if you're going there for dinner: it takes a special pleading--at least in the dead of the winter--to keep the kitchen open after 8!My wife and I knocked at the door a minute or so after eight, hungry and wet. The owner answered our knock and plea for food and ushered us into the weinstube (the main dining room had closed), a warm and friendly space decorated for the holiday season. The one waitress spoke English (thank goodness) and was kindness personified. The chef offered us an amuse--a meat terrine--before we ordered dinner: a thick slab of goose-liver pate (shared), pot roast with horseradish sauce (for me) and a tender, panfried veal chop (for my wife). Togther with tip and a good bottle of Franz Anton merlot, the most reasonable tab came to 106 Euros. Our visit could not have been more pleasant: The food, ambiance, and service were exemplary. I recommend the Kaiswerstuhler Hof Restaurant without reservation.

A marvellous place to eat or have a drink on the stylish terrace on the edge of the upper town walls with views over the Rhine and to the Voges beyond. Very helpful (English speaking) staff. A choice of tapas or light meals, so you can eat as much or as little as you want. Do go!
