We've now visited this bar / bistro at least 40 times and think that we can give a true and objective opinion about what they offer. Many of the clients are French. You'll find expats and tourists here of course but these have not taken over the place as they've done or trying elsewhere. What we like in particular is the service. Right from the start we felt that the owners were friendly and welcoming. It has taken time before the barriers came down somewhat and now they keep us less at a distance. We really feel we're getting there. The cappuccino is very good. Forget the standard coffees, try this one instead. Make sure you ask for the one with chantilly. You'll like it. Plat du jour is almost always tasty, plentiful and good value for money. In the morning you can eat you own croissant, if you prefer. You never feel that they think it's time for you to leave after you've finished your drink. The only comment we could make is that it would be great if the waitress could smile more. She is friendly and actually very nice but we find her a bit too stern.

Great ambiance! Excellent food and cooked precisely as requested. Our table was in front of the big fireplace but that was kept well under control so that we didn't burn on one side and were stone cold on the other. Service was very professional, ie friendly and helpful but without ever overstepping the mark by becoming too familiar. Advice re wine was given with alternatives, each with a subtle indication of the price in order not to embarrass the host and/or his guests.A faultless performance with delicious food. All that whilst delivering it at a relatively very reasonable price. What more does one want?

We came to Villedieu-Les-Poêles somewhat by accident and the Tourist Information Office suggested La Ferme de Malte. Having been told that the town was almost fully booked up we did not hesitate and booked blind. What a great surprise it was to be faced with such a wonderful setting. The old 'Commanderie' is beautifully restored with taste and style. We were given room 3 to spend the night in (yes they do have four rooms for overnight guests) and it was just perfect. Very spacious with separate toilet and bathroom with a walk-in shower. The owners are wonderful people, very friendly and they run the hotel/restaurant very well indeed. I cannot comment on the evening meal as we sent into town for a concert but it does look very good and I know they pride themselves on quality produce. Breakfast was simple but again just perfect. Choice of sitting in the restaurant area or the terrace and gardens. Wifi is readily available and free as well as free parking. It's actually very central as only a couple of minutes walk to the town Church yet it feels like it is in it's own park far from anything with the gardens and the whole grounds are very quiet. Overall La Ferme de Malte is an excellent place and I recommend it very strongly.

For dinner we chose the menu artisanat plus a supplement for two entrecote steaks. Including a pichet of red wine, the meal came to around 54â¬. Perhaps we'd have been better off not choosing the steaks as they were thin and tough. Neither of us enjoyed them. However, the meal was redeemed with the dessert course when I had a simple but tasty selection of cheeses and my wife had a really enjoyable platter of four mini desserts including coffee. There are several other restaurants in Villedieu that we prefer so we're not likely to revisit @'Atelier during our next holiday in the area.

Stopped en route to the ferry. We had plenty of time for lunch, but ended up under pressure due to slooooooow service. Both started with savory galettes, which were delicious. Also very friendly service. Sat in the pleasant outdoor area. However, about half way through the meal, all the staff seemed to disappear & there was no sign of anyone to serve us, & inside seemed WAY too busy & understaffed. In the end we had to cut our losses & leave without receiving half of what weâd ordered :-/Think it could be good if efficiently staffed & customer service improved...

On the day we called in for a light lunch, the plat du jour was a perfectly cooked and substantial piece of fresh cod served with chorizo, polenta and ratatouille. Absolutely delicious and a steal at â¬9.50 per head. This small neighbourhood restaurant is comfortably furnished in the modern style and run by welcoming, friendly people. There is a wide variety of food on offer - pizzas figure quite prominently in the menu - but, based on our experience, you wouldn't go far wrong here whatever you choose. If we'd discovered it earlier in our stay in Villedieu, we'd have been back for more.

'Fedele'..."demonstrated by continuing loyalty" so says the dictionary. Le Pussoir lives up to it's name! We concur with the plentiful reviews that dining here is a great experience. They offer consistency, creativity and charm. We chose it to be part of our last day of holiday before catching the ferry back to UK. A water, a red wine, two 'entree+ plat+ dessert and two coffees came to 39 Euros. There was choice from several dishes in each category. We enjoyed beautifully presented Avacado/prawn entrees, a large bavette with fries and a fish and potato bake for the main course followed by delicious desserts of pannacotta and creme caramel .An interesting interior and very helpful service ensured we had a memorable time. Many thanks to those who cooked and served us. The atmosphere and attention was just right.Fidele is quietly situated just off the main street in Villedieu, there is some parking adjacent to the restaurant.but we parked in a free parking area near the hospital and enjoyed the walk along the river La Sienne. Parking in the main street is limited to 15mins.

Looking for a good place to treat myself to a decent meal whilst passing through Villedieuu-Les-Poêles, I saw good reviews for this restaurant. I wasnât disappointed, a friendly and helpful owner, and good food and beer. In fact, it was so good for my evening meal I returned for lunch the next day. Strongly recommended.

This creperie is a little out of the town centre but well worth a visit. They serve buckwheat galette she, a speciality of the area and sweet crepes of a very high quality. We went at lunch time, service was good and food was excellent. The pancake of the day with a scallop was gorgeous! One of the chefs won the 1st prize as apprentice crêpier in France
