We were passing through St Galmier and it was the day of a music festival in June so we booked a table at La Chaumiere for dinner and a band played on the square opposite. It was a set menu with limited choices but it was all very good and the service was fine. I had duckling with potato dauphinoise which was excellent and we enjoyed a carafe of house wine. We had a thoroughly good meal and I would recommend this place.

Amazing restaurant, wonderful, helpful service. The food was amazing. on our vacations we don't visit the same restaurant twice. O Deux Bouchons was an exception. I'm sure we would go there third time as well if we stayed in that region longer. The food is fresh and delicious. A must visit!

We are spending a week in the area and family members recommended we head over to St Galmier for date night. We walked around town, looked at several restaurants' menus and finally decided to try Premiers Pas. The host was very nice and welcoming. We sat on the small patio and it was perfect for date night. All the other guests were inside. We started with a glass of Rosé Apple Cider which was delicious. Then we ordered the Galette Forezienne and the Galette Paysanne. The only negative comment I have is that the galettes were heavily loaded with potatoes and maybe not enough of the other ingredients (mushrooms and bacon bits in the Paysanne for example). But otherwise there was plenty to eat. For dessert we ordered the last two apricot crumbles with homemade icecream (hubby had the melon icecream and I had the peach icecream [glace a la peche de vigne]). THe dessert was fantastic. Apricots being in season, they were simply delicious - just the right mix of sweet and sour once baked. Overall it was a very nice experience and evening. All at a reasonable price.

We really enjoyed the visit to this restaurant. Very busy, on a Saturday night the owner went out of his way to be helpful and friendly, allowing us to eat with our small dog in the courtyard restaurant. The menu was excellent, and we chose to eat a la carte, having both main and desert. Prices reasonable for France and the quality of the food excellent. We would definitely consider staying at the hotel as well, in the future, as the position is well placed.

Been in this place with colleagues and i can truly say that i have been completally satisfayed by the food taste and quality. We had a very tasty gigantic half shrimp with a delicious sauce followed by a great beef plate... I did not like that much the dessert but that might be driven by personal taste. To note that the restaurant setting is effectively "particular" being a bit kitch. I cannot unfortunatelly comment on price..i did not See the menu provided was pre defined the meal. Place over all recommended.

We were passing through town in the winter and found the friendliest most attentive service here. The food was better than anywhere else we ate in town and it was local to our hotel. Highly recommended if you're in the mood for meat. Creme Brûlée was outstanding as was brûlée fois gras. Everything homemade. Don't leave without a shot of blackberry liqueur on ice...

We took the menu Baldemerien for 49 Euro.4 courses with amuses, pre-dessert and friandises.3 flaws that make it was not a TWO star meal.Pasta dough from raviolo too thick and therefore too hard. Strips of vegetable dried out. And in one of the desserts the casing of white chocolate too thick. But the rest.... OMG... absurd!!Sweetbread is perfect and a very very generous portion! The carmelized onion bread divine and home made. Deserts explosion of taste. Very good cheese trolley.49 Euro per person, is this real?!? It feels like stealing... but this is a very very good meal. And despite it is in a hotel really nice setting!Absolute recommendation!! Hi FSmulders,A big THANKS for your amazing value!Hope to see you again for a delicious meal at La Source.Regards,La Direction

Super flavours ooze from a wide variety of small dishes. The starters are refined as are the main course selections. The desserts were exquisite and there is no pressure to curtail your return to the servery. The chef/waitress all in one manages to do everything yet make you feel relaxed and well catered for. This place is a must if you visit St Galmier.
