L'Etabli has a 'bib' - not a star but more than a mention. It sets very high standards and is a serious eatery. The atmosphere is very reverential and the service is extremely subdued and polite. The food is very fine. Grande Cuisine, certainly. But it lacks 'flourish'. Everything is almost perfect, but whereas in a starred restaurant there's an intake of breath and a smile with each course, here it's a nod of satisfaction only. Perhaps he'll break through.

Le restaurant Vieille Canaille propose une cuisine traditionnelle, régionale, dans une ambiance conviviale. Charcuterie maison, bar à vins attenant & plus de 140 références de vins de producteurs...
Stopped by this place near our hotel and had some wine in their small wine bar area with Remé. He was charming and helpful and we made a reservation for the following evening for dinner. Fun, lively place with great, no frills Lyonnaise food. Fantastic wine list too! Pierre and staff are attentive and make the whole experience one you will want to repeat. We will be sure to return during our next trip to Lyon.

This small eatery has an excellent selection of âtartinesâ- open faced grilled cheese sandwiches with various other toppings- as well as salades and desserts. You can also order âplatesâ of meat, or cheese, or both to share. All of the tartines come with a small salade. It doesnât make a big meal, but if you arenât a big eater itâs just right. And if you are, just move on down the street and find pastry somewhere. The surroundings are cozy and the service was friendly and welcoming.I donât know who came up with this idea, but I think itâs a great one.

Neighbourhood a bit dodgy, but not scary dodgy.Succulent burgers and wonderful french fries cooked in lard I think but I forgot to ask.Really friendly welcome and service. Its small and if the terrasse (which overlooks the motorway) is closed it can't handle a lot of people.Only drawback is there's no kids menu.

This restaurant was amazing. The atmosphere, the waiter, and the food were all beyond excellent. We had the four course tasting menu with wine pairing, and were thrilled with each course. The area is not your traditional touristy area, but do not be put off by that. The food and wine are outstanding!

Refined French-Japanese fusion cuisine in an elegant and tranquil setting. Service was welcoming and unobtrusive, very attentive. We were served 2 amuse-bouches, the first one being a puree of parsnips and the second a smooth gelatin reduction topped with a dice of octopus and ginger. Both were subtle, creamy, and delicious. I had an appetizer of pan-seared foie gras nestled on a bed of slivered cauliflower and baked parmesan chips, drizzled with a blueberry sauce; it was warm, unctuous, and just a hint of sweetness and sourness from the blueberry to cut the richness. This was followed by a roasted slab of sea bass on a bed of pureed broccoli, accompanied with wild rice and mushrooms - delicate and mild, very autumnal. For dessert, I had their pavlova with poached plum slices, pistachios, whipped cream, and plum sorbet - a nicely crisp meringue contrasting with the gently melting sorbet, not overly sweet. Went great with coffee. The dinner menu is somewhat limited in choices, however, and i'm guessing that it's to focus on bringing out the utmost of the flavors and ingredients. It does accomplish this but I would advise those with large appetites to order two entrees (which is not a problem for this establishment) as one will probably not be enough.

I had lunch here after a business meeting with some colleagues in a nearby building.Quality of food is beyond the standard french restaurants as well as the setting (tissue table cloth and napkins, almost disappeared everywhere). This results in a bill slightly more expensive than competitors: ⬠26.28 for a starter, a main dish, a dessert and a glass of wine
