We called in here by chance looking for a sandwich and the owners were both so nice and accommodating. We just has saucisson baguettes and coffees but it was clear that this is a good restaurant run by people who care. During our 5 weeks tour we came across some very average hospitality, especially in. France but all was put right by this restaurant/cafe.I wanted to report on it purely down to excellent service and excellent and friendly attitude which sent us on our way happy.

Our host recommended the restaurant and it exceeded all of our expectations. We had our young children with us and they were so accommodating, serving the childrenâs meal first. The staff was also very patient with us since we did not speak French. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. A true gem!

Looking for a nice meal during our holiday and we certainly found it here. The service was a little slow and haphazard but the food was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. One of the only restaurants open most of the week as far as we could see

On holiday with my parents we wanted a typically French restaurant, nothing too fancy. We have been visiting the area for many years but hadn't tried la petite taverne before. I wish we had, it was a very nice experience. The menu is not extensive - the choice of starters is limited to salads and a dish of the day, for example - but I often think that restaurants which list a big choice can't do justice to them all. The food we had was beautifully cooked and from obviously fresh and well chosen ingredients. I had the freshwater fish Sandre as a main course and it was superb. I also had the best creme brulee I have ever had. We sat on the terrace which has a good view of the river and Romorantin, the only downside being the road nearby and some noisy mopeds. The prices are very reasonable, ca. â¬14 for mains. We spent â¬30 on a bottle of Mennetou Salon and it was well worth it. The staff were very friendly, we spoke in a mixture of French and English. I recommend this restaurant.

We stayed here one night on our way to Brittany - and we were absolutely surprised by the restaurant. The hotel was ok.... but the food - simply divine! The dinner was part of a package at a very reasonable price. But it was actually a dinner that ranked any of the dinners that we had enjoyed in Muchelin 2 star restaurants. Langoustines, filled pigeon and an apricot dessert, accompanied by white and red wine of excellent quality from the Loire and Tourraine region. We concluded the dinner in the patio with friandises and a Havana cigar, ready for a sound sleep and Brittany.

Discovering this small cozy restaurant in a little village not far from Romorantin was a great find. The food is absolutely delicious, the contemporary interior is very pleasant with perfect indirect lightning, the service is friendly and relaxed and the proprietors are extremely nice. We love everything about this restaurant and have been several times, each time leaving with the same feeling of having had a truly epicurean experience. And the cherry on top is that the quality price rapport is excellent! Our advice is to book early as it's often difficult to get a table. We thank you for your comment, it is always with pleasure that we receive you in our little restaurant.Arnaud and Lauriane

Great food. I'm sure my bf and I are a very select few Americans who appear here, however the French are helpful and sweet, and with gestures and google translate, it was an amazing experience.
