We have just visited this restaurant to celebrate our 31st Wedding Anniversary.Weâve not visited Pont Aven for several years now but when we had the opportunity to do so and celebrate there we jumped at the chance to make it a really special weekend. We researched the âbestâ restaurant option from some local advice and of course T.A. and then booked our table. I called at the restaurant this morning to confirm our table and inform them of our reason for booking. On arrival, we were greeted by the same young lady who managed our reservation. Unfortunately, it all went down hill from there...... perhaps as a side effect of the owner/ chef being more interested in talking to some blonde haired woman who was part of a larger group arriving to go to some upstairs tables. After waiting almost 20mins, before being offered a drinks list, I ordered two glasses of white wine and some mineral water. The wine was served in visibly different measures and eventually the mineral water was served at room temperature from the downstairs bar.On having to get up and remonstrate the young lady from earlier took over our service and went upstairs for some chilled water. Our starters arrived and both were very tasty but perhaps needing a little extra seasoning. My only problem with the starters, mine was a choice from the 33euro table dâhote menu a stuffed courgette flower but charged at â¬18, â¬1 less than the Langoustine Ravioli. I was blissfully unaware of this as we ran into issues with our plats, resulting in my wife eating hers alone as I waited for mine to be replaced as it had been overlooked. From this moment on we were completely ignored, with not even an offer to top up our wine, complimented by a junior chef (presumably the one who over cooked my monkfish) glaring at me, eye to eye on his way UP and DOWN the stairs to change prior to leaving. On asking for the bill I was a little bemused to see that we had been charged for the full amount despite the overall extremely disjointed/disappointing experience, and I asked to speak to the owner / manager. On arrival the man was extremely negative and said that he did not speak any English. Frederick his name I later discovered then continued to speak in more rapid spoken French. I apologised for my limited ability to communicate fully in French and asked that he spoke a little slower. After outlining some of our issues he said in English â You Donât Like, Fine OK just GOâ and walked off. We were left alone and ignored for some minutes, before getting up to leave. At this point Frederick shouted at us at the doorway we must pay despite the problems.I explained that I had no problem with paying but I did have an issue with dining separately to my wife on a special occasion to which he said âpas de problemâ and actually threatened to call the Police. I told Frederick to please continue to do so as I would be very happy to speak with them.He then continued to speak in very rapid French accompanied by his frequent outbursts in English to deny any of the problems where within his control. At this point I decided that there was not going to be a resolution with this man to our satisfaction so I just settled our account and left thinking that for us in gastronomic terms... What a very sad night for Pont Aven. NEVER AGAIN...

En arrivant dans le centre animé de Pont Aven longez la rivière nous sommes au calme sur le port face aux bateaux.
Definitely a seafood restaurant. Nice varied menu, good choices but you are here for the seafood particularly the shellfish. Arrived for lunch, good seating available on Friday mid-May. Nice menu and good mdj but they were very friendly and happy to take an order for a dish not on the main menu. We were only there for the oysters and langoustines so combine a simple salad and a hreat meal was had. What more can you ask for, a simple seafood meal, reasonably priced, pleasantly served over a reasonable time span? Full marks.Thank you very much from the entire team. It is thanks to customers like you that we love our job. A big thank you for your encouragement. We will be delighted to welcome you again. The team of Mimosas.

Bonnes crêpes honnètes.Unfortunately the place was empty the two times we went there, however the galettes and crêpes were faultless and the local apple juice I highly recommend. I enjoyed the double crêpe which was thicker. Try the galette just with butter to enjoy the taste of the galette itself.

This restaurant is absolutely delicious, went there for the World Cup final and it was so good we had to go back, the lobster ravioli is brilliant and the people were incredibly sweet + they speak English and have the greatest attitude which is not very easy to find in France.Súper recommended!

We encountered cheerful service and really nice crepes. The ble noir section on the menu lists the savoury buckwheat crepes. In addition to devising your own combination of ingredients (including escargots and various types of sausage) there are some house suggestions. We enjoyed the local cider with our crepes. If you are a large group be aware that the crepes may appear from the kitchen two or three at a time so some of your group may have finished their crepes by the time that the last few receive theirs. There's a covered patio at the back (access via steps at the side) and a garden up which children find appealing. The restaurant is a 5 minute walk up from the bridge in the central tourist area and is probably overlooked by many visitors to the town.

Visited at lunch time with a 3 and 5 year old. Staff all very friendly and our seats overlooked the beach and ocean. Nice relaxed atmosphere and the food was pretty good. I recommend the bacon burger, Was delicious. 50 euros for 4 of us so not bad on pricing. You can park in a small public car park a couple of mins away.

My husband and I spend a month in Paris every year. La Taupiniere, just outside the tiny town of Pont Aven in Brittany, is as good as the very best restaurants we have dined at in Paris. The setting is lovely, in a small house on a quiet road. The welcome is warm and inviting. The two dining rooms are quietly elegant. And the food is beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. The table service is attentive with no pretension. We rarely find the need to question a wine but we thought our first selection might have turned. The host tasted and felt that while the wine was not spoiled it had lost some of the attributes that make it special. He offered to change it for us, without hesitation. This was the right thing to do but it was done with exceptional grace and good humor. In short, nothing could have been better. Dinner here is expensive though not outrageous and we felt the price was fully justified by the quality. We hope to have another chance to dine at La Taupiniere.

not sure, where to start: it was the BEST dinner EVER!The service was spot-on, very relaxed and gave time to conversation. The food was outstanding, devine and extra-ordinaire.The chef's special 'sea-spider dish' was well presented and an experience in itself.Accompanying the food, I was offered very special wines (by the glass), which the bottles were opened only for me, which enlarged the very exclusive feeling of the evening.
