This is a restaurant that has a very limited menu and it does not follow the style of food normally seen in French Cuisine. There were none of the French standard type dishes on the menu the night we were there but being adventurous with our food (and appreciating inventiveness and quality) my wife and I were very happy. It makes great use of local produce and of course dispenses the local wines. We both had the marinated sardines, tiny strips of fish with an interesting dressing. Then my wife what on the face of it would be a traditional sausage dish as her main course but it was cut into chunks, sauced and and served with an interesting mix of vegetables and asparagus. I had baked cod with a delicious top crust of a form of pate. The fish was beautifully cooked and resting on a bed green vegetables - broad beans featuring prominently, with occasional little chunks of softly poached rhubarb. It really worked. We weren't tempted by the desserts though - we had to leave relatively early to meet up with some friends. Service was great. There is a big wine list but no half bottles. We had wines by the glass - our hostess chose the wines to match the food. Sitting outside on the terrace was lovely and there were blankets to keep us warm on what was a relatively cool night. Nice evening. Good value for a high quality eating experience.

We visited this restaurant after finishing lunch at La Roche Le Roy at 3pm.Nice cool structure and entrance, welcoming staff and good wine selection. We tried the squid, pigeon and prawns/langoustine and soufflé. Overall, the squid was the best. The other dishes were very good but not much of the wow factor. On this vacation, we ate at 9 Michelin restaurants in Tours and Paris.Between the above 2 restaurants in Tours, we still prefer La Roche.

Visited here with friends and found this restaurant to serve very good food. Starters of ris de veau excellent , mains of duck really tasty. Desserts of maison tart tatin beautiful . WineItâs has some great local producers and is very fairly priced . Certainly worth a visit if in Vouvray.

We stopped off for lunch here on a Monday, the food was very good, service excellent and the dining areas clean tidy and pleasant. The brasserie was fairly busy. There was a reasonable menu available and the food well cooked and tasty.

4 cycling friends were looking for shelter from the rain and found this tiny little patisserie and were delighted to find a table for 4, excellent service and the most delicious homemade quiches - best we have tasted on our tour of the Loire! We also couldnât leave before sampling 4 of the most exquisite patisseries - again all made in house. Donât miss this unassuming little cafe if you are ever passing Montlouis-sur-Loire - or make a special journey !

We found La Grange somewhat by chance after a stop to see the gardens at Bourdaisiere. La Grange is just a short bike ride away. We loved everything about this restaurant. Everything we had was delicious -- the Brioche St. Jacques in particular was breathtaking! Service is excellent and friendly. A little oasis.

Recommended by locals, so we popped in. Amazing selection of Crepes - from main course to desert. Nice place to enjoy a local type meal with both tourists & locals alike. You'll enjoy...

First, the holiday decorations were beautiful and the escargot was an excellent opening to our dinner; however, the duck that followed was disappointing. It was served nicely sliced but was rare and tough. The braised edges were tender and tasty, but the tough center was not appealing to our taste. Dessert was fine. Service was efficient but slow to respond to requests. If the food had been up to the level of the ambiance this would have been a special evening, but overall it was a disappointment at the price.Dear Sir,Thanks for your few words.Just for the price, your guid pay to the restaurant the less expensive menu and they add their commission so we don't know how much you paid ....But I am sure, you are wright, they ask you to much !Regards,Aurore DUGOUJON

The welcome was friendly enough but despite a relatively empty restaurant (Tuesday night) service was very slow both on arriving and between courses. We ordered the 23 Euro set menu which sounded great. Each course was beautifully presented but the quality of the cooking of the starters and mains did not match the presentation. The haddock starter was tepid and there were bones. The pea fricassee was also tepid, the peas were hard and not tasty and the sauce was watery. With the main course of belly pork the meat was unevenly cooked and some parts were desiccated. Yet the skin was not crisped. It has to be said that the desserts were very tasty. The wine recommendation was spot on too - we had a half bottle of Saumur red. Shame really.

We came across this restaurant by chance and were delighted. Absolutely charming decor: a little quirky but not trying too hard, tables set not too close but close enough to give a pleasant ambience. We were greeted and made so welcome. The food was delicious; not too much choice but enough to be intrigued, the lamb was superb and the chocolate dessert was out of this world! Lovely wines too at a reasonable price - would definitely revisit.
