At the top of the hill above Les Herbiers are the remains of the windmills which during the Vendeen war, were used to signal to the royalist rebels below. Across the road is a large chapel with beautiful stained glass windows built in the 1990s to commemorate 200 years since the said war. In the very big car park is this lovely restaurant. Looks quiet from the outside but inside its a lovely space and they do a 12 euro set menu which is great value. The buffet starter which is one of the options is very comprehensive and includes ingredients like king prawns which are absent from other buffets at this price. They don't do wine by the pichet which is a shame but they do wine by the glass if you cant manage the whole bottle. It's a lovely cosy setting and the staff are very friendly. The views down towards Les Herbiers are magnificent on a clear day and there are a network of footpaths to work off lunch.

We went for the burgers, but it looked like other things on the menu were very good too. Service, general atmosphere and of course food were all excellent, highly recommended. Mike UK

After a day at Puy du Fou, we searched Google maps for a pizzeria and found this one. We made a good choice going there. It was quite busy at the restaurant but we were seated in two minutes. The food we ordered was brought very fast as well, considering it was quite busy. The toppings of our pizza's were quite good and tasteful. Our deserts were quite delicious too. Prices are very reasonable.Staff was very helpful and our waitress was proud of us trying to order our meals in French, which actually worked out well :-)Would definitely go back again if I would be in the vicinity.Mister, thanck you for your avis, my english is not good but y understand your message it is the principal, see you soon. bye bye Bruno

We went for the pizzas which were very good. The best ones we tested at Les Herbiers :) The kids menu is the same as everywhere else (we went for French fries and burger meat), the meat was dry though :( They provided a high chair for our little one. The chocolate mousse for dessert was delicious. They also had a 3 meals course at 19.50 euros p.p. which looked great. Very good service.

Was staying in Ibis yards away tried this resturant for convenience. The clientele were local which was always a good sign. Despite our basic French and staff's little English we managed to decipher the menu. The beef was good and melted in your mouth. The minature selection of cakes on the sweet menu was delicious.Staff were friendly and tried to help us choose our food

Lovely little place, without looking much from the outside. We were placed in a covered terrace. Food was of a very high standard and it was served by friendly helpful waiters. The restaurant had an excellent ambience. The variety and quality of food was very good. Would definitely return.

Not exactly on the beaten track. Quiet Wednesday eve. Arrived 7.15 p.m. on opening. No booking but not busy. Muddled through in tourist french. Food was amazing, which I was surprised at but I'm not sure why. Crab rilette with the most stunning asparagus iced cream. Sea bass. Rose wine. Topped off a really good day. Heartily recommended.
