Le Donjon is a small family-run restaurant in the picturesque Provençal village Le Bar sur Loup approx 35 min from Nice, on the hillside between St. Paul de Vence and Grasse. The restaurant is located in a protected building from the 11th century right in
Visited good friends 17th of May who invited us to Bistro Le Donjon - Arrived late, but still received the best food, wine and service.

My wife and I found this little gem by chance. Looking for somewhere to have lunch we popped in and where welcomed by a very friendly lady who offered us an option of the day as well as an exciting menu.We opted for the dish of the day which was baby chicken roasted in the oven.My wife had broken her right arm a few weeks before so when the chef brought the food out he deboned the chicken for her. They couldnât be more helpful. We finished with home made desserts which in my case was one of best Rum Babas I have ever tasted. We have returned the following week and again the food and service were outstanding.Highly recommended. Their produce is fresh and sourced locally. The best kept secret of Le Rouret. It wonât be a secret much longer though. Will be back again.

Petit restaurant cosy niché au coeur du village classé de valbonne. Une cuisine raffinée cuisinée avec des produits frais. Changement de la carte chaque mois. Menu retour du marché chaque jour. Les chiens ne sont pas acceptés.
If you're a foodie, look no further. This place is a hidden gem for those-in-the-know. Food is very high quality and beautifully presented. Quality/price ratio is high on their 45 Euro prixe fixe (lobster salad was huge with lots of lobster. The lamb prepared two ways was a stunner.)The chef's wife is very knowledgable and offers a warm, caring welcome. Be sure to reserve as it's tiny. In good weather ask for one of the coveted spots outside. Wine list is small but expertly crafted.

We are tourists and we popped by for something to eat. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing, definitely would return. Another nice point was that the servers kept speaking fresh (rather than switching to english) so we could continue to practice our French. Great choice and substitutes were offered when ingredients had run out. Thankyou!

Having read the mostly positive reviews for this restaurant, we were looking forward to discovering it. The first surprise was the restaurant itself! It looked small and dingy from the outside and not much better within. Basically, the setting and decor are awful. The service was decent, the waiter was polite but responded in monosyllables. On the plus side, the meal was outstanding and worthy of any high end French dining establishment. So, to sum up, a mixed bag. A great eatery but I wouldn't go there for a celebratory occasion as the setting is not on par with the food.

We had this restaurant recommended for lunch and werenât disappointed. It was lovely sitting out on the terrace under the awnings on Saturday at lunch time.Staff were attentive, without being intrusive. The food was good, steaks were accurately cooked. The duck was cooked well. Salads were probably the highlight. We would recommend trying the salads.Wine list was ok, could benefit from a little wider choice, we donât all love Provençal Rose....

We loved our local restaurant whilst staying in le Rouret. Without a doubt the restaurant is always busy and has limited nights during the week. The asparagus dish with fresh egg mayonnaise and a choice of miniature lettuces was beyond fabulous! Great atmosphere and the best in the area .

Weâve eaten here before and always enjoyed the food and excellent service. Today we tried the Easter luncheon and it was fabulous! The traditional lamb entree was perfectly cooked and delicious. Also chose the strawberry âsoupeâ with muscat for dessert. Highly recommend
