We were looking for a special evening out and found this fantastic place on TripAdvisor. And it was amazing! We had a feast from the beginning (faux-gras and its trimmings) all the way to the end (a chocolate cake with a meringue topping) all vegetarian and gluten free! And Nathalie, the chef, was really sweet and helpful! We'll definitely go back soon! Make sure you call to reserve! It was so fascinating that we forgot to take any pictures!

Very nice food. Large portions. However felt we were given the worse table on the terrace. The French always save the best tables for locals. Still worth another visit. Bonjour et merci pour votre commentaire et de savoir que l'on a pu vous faire plaisirmon équipe et moi mêmebien a vous et au plaisir de vous revoirle gérant chef de cuisine

We had a great evening recently. Our first time here after narrowly missing the opening a couple of month's ago. Our waiter was very personable and explained the menu well. There are a couple of set menu options as well as an exciting a la carte selection. It was great to see fish offered on the set menu both in the starter and main course. The herring fillets with potato salad were excellent. We both had Dorado en papilotte for mains. Everything was very fresh, home made and well presented. Please keep up the good work. We look forward to a return visit.

Philippe Da Silva, a generous and enthusiastic Chef, has turned the Hostellerie des Gorges de Pennafort into one of the most sought-after restaurants in the Var. This lover of fine foods prepares a neoclassical cuisine that is always elaborate and delight

This review is 50% for Roquebune-sur-Argens and 50% for Evelyne. We come to Roquebrune once a year and love it. It's one of the most authentic non-pretentious villages in the South Of France. Maybe it's because it's inland, away from the coast and crowds. It's a working, lived in village and a relief from the upturned noses of Le Cote d'Azur. It's friendly if you are. It's so quiet and sums up all of the best things about France... a medieval square with a great regular cafe that makes the perfect cafe au lait or draft beer or Pastis. Watch the footy or just listen for the hourly church bells. We went here for our coffee after Evelyne. We rang in advance on the Sat morn and booked for Sat lunch. Got a lovely table for 4 outside. We were all completely unadventurous and went for lamb steaks and chips. Lamb cooked perfectly (medium rare with Rosemary) and chips you rarely get in France - like the english ones your mum (or dad if he was good) used to make. Well-done and lots of salt. Deserts, like the mains, were simple - crepes, strawberries and cream etc. Home cooked food kept simple and cooked perfectly is what Evelyne is about. Meal with half a carafe of rose (& cokes for the kids) for 2 adults and 2 children (mains and desert) came to â¬60 or £45. Our Frank (8) described his lamb as 'legendary'. I don't want to over-do-it as it's the simplicity of Roquebrune and Evelyne that does it for us every time. Just about perfect. 4 stars only because I'm a realistic (expect the worst and hope for the best).

We eat there often. In the summer period reservation is a must. You can call during opening times of restaurant. Fresh food (French), good and fast service (can get longer if restaurant is really busy). Price Quality is very good. Run by family. We love it.

This little bistro is most certainly in one of the strangest finds ever. Located on an new office / business development this bistro serves unpretentious meals with flair and panache whilst maintaining a very relaxed family atmosphere. The menu is varied, well cooked and served hot. You can see the chefs working their magic as the kitchen is open plan. There is extensive open air seating or a large inside area should the weather prove inclement.Reasonably priced limited wine list serving the best from the local area. Excellent free parking. One suggestion is that when dusk falls some form of table lighting might be provided to create even more ambience.

After a horrendous wait to pick up our car at Nice Airport, we pulled off the A7 heading to towards Draguinan, tired, jaded, hot and very hungry - at 2.15pm!Enroute I spotted the village Trans-en-Provence, parked and asked Fred if they could serve us lunch.Kitchen closed, but Fred composed for us the most delicous salad and an enormous plate of perfect cheese., which we ate on their terrace overlooking Place Marie.I have not been happier in ages and Fred was an excellent host.I arrived stressed and worn and left on top of the world - thanks to Fred!So we will return to this new restaurant ( only 2 months) as soon as possible to enjoy Justine's ( award winning!) cooking.

We tried Les Jardins De L'Orangeraie after reading the reviews on trip advisor and were not disappointed. A beautiful setting, really friendly welcome and great food - if you are after somewhere nice to eat this is the place.

A great experience as always. Very friendly snd personal reception. This is the kind of an excellent * restaurant where you can order just a beer as aperitif when you feel for it. Very relaxed athomsphere. We are always impressed about the phantasy of the entire meal, depending of the season. The sommelier is a big plus; we like when he challenges our habits and presents wines we never knew about. Very good price/ quality ratio. Can someone explain why they donât have two stars?Year after year with constantly improving art of cooking
