We visited with family during our recent break. We had both savoury and sweet crepes which were all great quality washed down with beers and wine. Great value

Fresh food, local products. Specialities from the South of the France served all year long.
You never know quite what to expect until you get to new place. Looks good, it is good, but what makes this particularly good is the wonderful couple who own and run this great spot. Everything's impeccable, rooms comfortable, dining room superb, food ***, and the patio and pool a delight

On arrival the place was very quiet, we were a little worried. Need not have worried the service was excellent, the food was very good with an excellent house wine and a wonderful Belgian ipa to quench my thirst. Reasonable prices and the place soon filled with locals.

We had a galette and crêpe, both were delicious. For a crêperie, it is excellent, the service was quick, attentive and friendly. We would both recommend the crêpe au beurre salé washed down with a bowl of cider. Not fine dining, but it does what it says!!

L'Esperanza is a modest little restaurant-pizzeria, situated in the main street in La Bernerie en Retz, a short walk from the beach. The three course 12:50 euro lunch was really good value for money and service was good. It seemed a popular venue for locals, on this out of season occasion.Well worth a visit

Funny place, good coffee and the food was alright. They let dogs inside the restaurant and the dog was sitting on the chair eating in a plate.. Lots of locals come here to have a beer at night and it gets pretty lively.

Déjeuner super service parfait c'est ce qui décrit le mieux ces quelques heures passées dans cette établissement. La cuisine est soignée et on y trouve une inventivité remarquable. Nous sommes satisfaits et reviendrons avec bonheur.

The restaurant is in the centre of a small village, but even so, you have to book well ahead. This is partly due to the quality of the food, but I think it may also be due to it seating a maximum of 24 people. The welcome was friendly and the service was quick. The menu is fairly limited, both for food and wine, and the most expensive choice of menu does not detail what you would get! The choice from the a la carte did suit us and we were pleased with our choices. Our favourites were the fish dishes, not surprisingly, as this is right on the Atlantic coast. The only minor criticism would be that there was no deadening of the voices of other diners, so even though the tables were well spaced, one could not help but overhear what was being said at those other tables. Perhaps some music, or curtains or a carpet might help. The restaurant is only open two lunchtimes a week off-season, and a bit more during July and August.
