We enjoyed the food. We felt that the restaurant was not as friendly, attentive or receptive as some of the other restaurants we visited over 2 weeks. Perhaps the restaurant tends to focus on regular local customers and is not as well geared to us foreign diners.Nice but not our favourite.

Wed stopped the previous for a coffee, the atmosphere and staff were very inviting, so we went back the next night for food and weren't disappointed. We didnt have kids with us, but there was small children's area which assume is appreciated by diners. Would go back again when next in La Couarde sur Mer

We felt very welcome as a family with three kids, their food was brilliant, especially my daughter's fish (lieu jaune) was cooked well and served with excellent mash. For dessert the kids had very good chocolate cake. My wife and I enjoyed the set meal.It was a fitting end to our holidays.

Managed to get a seat on a busy Tuesday night.Service was more than acceptable considering the number of diners!Crepes were excellent and something totally different and unexpected from what we English would expect as a main evening meal!(and catered for vegetarians). Cost was reasonable considering location.Staff were very helpful (particularly the young male waiter)and assisted with our basic French! The restaurant is by the harbour and a nice to watch the sun go down.Great visit..Merci!!

We stayed at the campsite for 3 nights and had breakfast here once and dinner twice. There is a good variety of food and everything seemed to be freshly made and very tasty. The fresh fish of the day was great and beautifully cooked. The restaurant is also very good value compared with the restaurants is the village. The service was great - helpful and attentive. Would recommend, even if you aren't staying here.

The food at the Balaou was excellent. We had octopus salad, cod balls to start and then steak and hake as mains. Great flavours and each dish very well prepared. The service was very friendly and would recommend highly. Certainly the best food we had on the island.

In the fine decor of a 17th century style dining room, delight in an intimate gastronomic dinner at La Table d'Olivia. The restaurant welcomes a maximum of twenty guests each evening for a unique culinary experience. Here, you will enjoy a refined and aut
From start to finish an excellent experience. A small but impeccable dining room offers the most refined dining experience in St Martin. The cooking here easily surpasses several Michelin starred restaurants we have visited recently and I'm sure the guide must surely be thinking awarding one here. What we liked was a respect for the ingredients. Top produce with seasonality in mind and then cooked to perfection with a restraint not to add unnecessary garnishes. We also shared a bottle of the hotel's own wine Chateau Clarisse Vielle Vignes 2015 which is new Chateau to me. What a lovely bottle. Already drinking superbly I can say quality to price ratio it is somewhat of a bargain. Until next year! Dear Madam, Dear Sir, I am delighted to read your kind words, thank you for taking the time to share your experience at La Table dâOlivia.Thrilled to read that you appreciated the cuisine of our Chef Thibault Peyroche. We take care about choosing and cooking local and seasonal products. Our Chef used to have a Michelin star in the past, his everyday aim is to bring his guests on an exquisite culinary journey.I am pleased to see that you appreciated the dining room. For the decoration, I collaborated with the renowned designer Mr. Pierre-Yves Rochon, and I surrounded myself with the best craftsmen in order to highlight the history of the Ile de Ré and the Region.Delighted to read that you have appreciated our wines. Our own wine, Château Clarisse, enjoys clay-limestone and clay-siliceous soil and is composed of 67% merlot, 30% cabernet francs and 3% carmenere.I would be happy to welcome you again. For any future stay or reservation, I am happy to put you in touch with my assistant, Marie Dumarest ([email protected]), she will be pleased to arrange the details of your next stay with us. With my very sincere greetings,Olivia Le CalvezOwner of Hôtel de Toiras & La Villa Clarisse

We do not eat a lot of seafood, so were a little wary of a purely 'Seafood Restaurant' but we were on holiday with friends and up for an adventure. No menu, one start-time, sit where you can with everyone else..... and be amazed!! The quality of the food, the superb imagination, the wonderous skills of the Chef; everything just blew us away. I can truely say it was one of the best meals I have every had! All 24 diners sat in rapt attention as the Chef and his wife proudly presented each course, identified the ingredients and where and when each was caught. There were so many highlights it is hard to pick out just one, but the cuttlefish dish was breathtakingly good and every stray drop of sauce was mopped up. We have eaten at a certain celebrity chefs restaurant in Padstein....... This is better by far! It deserves to be known by more than locals and lucky holiday makers who stumble on it!

In the heart of Saint-Clément-des-Baleines, Les Huîtres de St-Clément is an Oyster Bar offering a selection of Ile de Ré oysters, to eat on the spot or take away.
à refaire l'an prochain.
