A group of us ate here while on a cycling holiday in the Minervois. We were staying in a B&B in Olonzac and the owners gave us directions for a more scenic walk (30 minutes) to the restaurant. We had the 25 euro evening menu and were all really happy with our meal. The owner is very friendly and helpful, wines reasonably priced (Ollieux Romanis was excellent). Walking back in the dark along the canal was fun too. Really wish the new owners every success for this excellent restaurant.

In the center of Olonzac, a stage to be recommended to the gourmets here strolls some in the very beautiful vineyard of Minervois. Specialities: Quill with Catharoise, Foie gras with the Muscatel of St-Jean Table rebukes of Languedoc
Our meal was truly special. When the chef was informed that we were four vegetarians who did not eat meat, poultry, or seafood - he/she was ok with preparing a fine vegetarian dinner. Our meal included a cup of tasty gazpacho, a delightful and multi-colored salad and a main dish of roasted and nicely seasoned vegetables surrounded with dashes and splashes of red and yellow puréed garnishes. Our wine was good and since we were content with a slow leisurely meal, did not expect rapid service from our waitress. Overall we were happy with our meal and would have no hesitation of recommending Le Bel Minervois to others.Hello, first of all thank you for taking the time to write this comment.Indeed, our chef strives to ensure that every customer is satisfied, including vegetarians.we are sorry that the service seemed too fast, we will try to fix it.in any case, a very big thanks to you for giving us your trust

We arrived here one Thursday evening with probably another 4 groups seated before us. The restaurant specialises in pizzas. Once weâd sat down and ordered (and had delivered) drinks, whilst we perused the menu, we were told there were no pizzas. No further explanation. Pizza oven broken? No. On further questioning it appeared they had a number of orders already and werenât taking any more. Waiting for a period wasnât offered as an option. This left us with a problem as we had both wanted pizza. Given that we already had drinks it would have been difficult to go elsewhere and thus we were forced to choose an alternative. When the food arrived it was fine, albeit that there was a delay between the 2 dishes arriving. No good.We werenât the only ones disappointed. Several other parties after us had the same dilemma and ended up ordering something they didnât really want.Ironically we didnât see that many take away orders come across the pass, so can only guess that the pizza oven is minute! All in all not a good meal out and a place we would not recommend unless you order the week before!!!!Mrs,We are sorry if you haven't found complete satisfaction in our restaurant â¦The pizzas aren't our main plats (we have a large menu) and customers can take away the pizzas ⦠When we have lots of orders, we prefer to stop them because we don't want you to wait too long time â¦However, we hope despite your note, the plats you have tasted have pleased you ⦠We also hope to welcome you again and satisfy you completely ...

Close by the canal du midi, have a dinner in the garden en enjoy a unique moment where you will appreciate the perfect match betwween Food & Wines .
We revisited the restaurant because we loved the tapas, the ambience, the location, the wine (in particular) and of course, the owners Sylvie and Christophe. The weather lent itself to whiling away the evening nibbling at the plentiful tapas, supping the perfect wine (from their vinyard) speculating on various alternative uses for local derelict buildings and chatting with the proprietors without any pressure although they were here, there and everywhere as you'd expect - wonderful. There is an old upright piano that is presently sadly it seems just for decoration on site however if this was manned (or womaned) by a pianist tinkling on the ivories wow! that would be wonderful and would I feel (although, what do I know?) attract passing interest. Both gates are now open which allows passers by to see the delightful area and promises within.I continue to recommend this venue - worth a visit or two. Thanks so much for your comments ! We do our best to make you feel relax and ensuring that you have a great time with us and will try to fix our old piano in case of the great jazzman will show up :)

We have known Le Foudre through a few guises but most recently gave it a try out of season, in November - twice in three evenings! Hence ârecommendedâ.A lovely welcome from charming hosts (Christine?) and a warm, welcoming interior, full of characterAs well as à la carte, there are set menus available in the evenings as well as at lunchtime, offering excellent value. The food: quality provenance is clear all around, with the source of everything specified. One evening we both had lovely salmon with Minervois sauce, flanked either side by delicious starter and dessert. Second visit we both had delicious and beautifully cooked beef, top notch. Good wine list and the house wine, by pichet, was excellent as both the red and the white, representing outstanding value.Would we return? We did, two evenings later! Quality food, well cooked, in characterful and pleasant surroundings; might have given 4 stars but the lovely welcome and service translated to a 5 for us.

First time visit despite several visits to the area and probably ended up here as other places were closed. Very pleasantly surprised and would definitely come back. The quality of the food and wine was excellent and the only (small) criticism would be that the portions were too big (which is difficult for me to say ). Lovely pleasant service and we would highly recommend.

Perfect example of a quaint country restaurant with the bonus of the waterfront location and the best lamb and fish we had in France, including a Michelin star restaurant the night before. Tranquil canal side tables indoor or under a grape arbor steps from the canal. Nice selection a of wines and all at a very reasonable price.Excellent professional service and quite busy on a hot August afternoon. Nicely kept building and very clean bathroom.Visited in September

Went here with friends this week while on a canal holiday. We didnât book a table but probably should have because we ended up inside instead of being able to sit on their lovely terrace. The food was delicious, we had various lovely meals including salmon, steak and duck. It was really good value. It is on the edge of Homps and right beside the canal. Iâd definitely recommend this if youâre in Homps but book a table.
