Reviews on French food in Giverny, France. Thank Claude Monet for making this small village, located less than 50 miles northwest of Paris, a global landmark. Not only did the world-famous Impressionist painter live here for over four decades, but his Japanese-inspired garden (and the artist’s restored 19th century home) remain must-see attractions for visitors to France. Art lovers also will want to check out the Musée des Impressionnismes, which houses—as you’d expect—a collection of paintings and special exhibitions highlighting the Impressionist movement. Great for day trippers visiting from Paris, Giverny also offers bed-and-breakfast lodging for those travelers who want to spend the night.

Ideally situated in Giverny, less than an hour drive from Paris, La Musardiere offers you the warmth of a cozy home, whether you feel like relaxing in the main lounge by the fireplace or in the tree-filled garden facing due south. All of our 11 rooms and
We were going to the gardens the next day and this was close to our lodging and the gardens. We found it by recommendation and on trip advisor. I am afraid that with all of us choosing different dishes, we did not care for the food. As a frequent Europeantraveler before you say Awe it is just an American.....really it did not have much to choose from and it was not that tasty. Sorry, because it was such a lovely setting.

We were touring Monet's Gardens in Giverny. We picked this restaurant more or less at random. Our lunch was reasonably priced and excellent. The French restaurants take their cooking seriously. So, even though the restaurant probably does not receive many repeat customers, the food is good.

Had dinner after a large lunch and really didnât do justice to the food. Nice selection of entree and desert crepes, also salads. Full bar, small but adequate selection of beer and wine. Lovely setting right on the Seine. Seems like a neighborhood place, we were the only non French but had great service. Tip - they donât bring you the check - you pay inside at the bar.

The restaurant was recommended by the owner of the B and B where we were staying and he booked it for us. It's only a small place- no more than 8-10 tables and all were full. You have your table for the night and there is no rush.We chose to eat from the Discovery menu at 39 euros each as this seemed to be good value. All the food was freshly cooked and beautifully presented - we had no reason to complain at all. The waiters were friendly and spoke excellent English and were more than happy to answer any questions that we had, particularly about the extensive cheese board.Try the strawberry souffle - it is to die for!!!The whole meal experience took about 3 hours which is a long time for the English but it meant that each course was not rushed and at the end, I was not too full to walk back.Thank you for your compliments. They deeply touch us. It was a pleasure for us to serve you and give you advices. Sincerely.

Went again with the family this time. Best to reserve.... as always crowded. Despite very busy evening everything went smoothly in a timely manner. Good wine. God service. Good food... keep going.

Across the road from the hotet is the outside dining area for this restaurant, under trees. Food was good and good value for money. Service from the waiters was smiley, even given my atrocious French. If I am in Giverney again I will have dinner here again.

We ate here whilst staying at the hotel. We had the taster menu which was great value at â¬55 and was absolutely excellent. Service was really good and wine was reasonably priced. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant regardless of whether you are staying at the hotel or not.

We just had sandwiches as part of their lunch special (which included drinks and desserts). Everything was great - the sandwiches are huge! The place is quirky and fun (inside and outside area) - I was so glad I had read about this place on Tripadvisor before our visit!

Lovely Normandy restaurant, fairly close to my sisters home and about 20 minutes from Giverny. The Restaurant Gabriel looks âFrenchâ from the outside but more Scandinavian modern in the inside with one large room with 60âs wood and Formica tables. Though the room is large it is quite and somehow manages to feel intimate with 60-70s music playing softly in the background. The service was impeccable and the presentation very pleasing to the eye. They promote the products of the region through local producers so everything is fresh. We were each served a delicious cold green pea soup served in a parfait glass. I ordered one of their Menu options, they have several along with a few Ala Cart options. My starter was a shrimp cocktail, again presented beautifully and very tasty. My pork dish was divine and presented on a bed of an incredible chopped mushroom dish. My menu included the appropriate wine accompaniment, which was the only disappointment of the evening â light not full bodied. My sister ordered the filet mignon, again the presentation was lovely however she found the meat touch (she thought it fresh beef rather than aged). Her starter was an absolutely fantastic Foie gras. My brother-in-lawâs selection was the steak tartare which he said he would order again. Another lovely evening in Normandy. Price range 30E to 75E including wine.
