Dans un cadre chaleureux, découvrez les délices d'une cuisine traditionnelle ponctuée d'une touche d'originalité. Vous serez chaleureusement accueilli et aurez droit au sourire du propriétaire.
Lunch was terrific - nice range of hors d'oeuvres, and good main courses and desserts. Get there early, though - they run out of their options surprisingly quickly.

Ate here today, at 2/3rds the price of our trip to Bagnoles l'Orne, (see my previous review). twenty odd workmen in having their lunch... and they know a thing or two.Salade des Gesiers, beautifully cooked on a bed of lettuce leaves and a tomato & crevettes dish, both of which were splendid. A pastis and carafe of white wine.I followed with the escalopes of pork in a mushroom sauce, fries, tomato salad and garnish. Superb, although spouse ate most of my chips! We both had rhubarb (from her parents' garden) in a lovely tasty tarte.A menu is three courses including wine & coffee for just under 15euros. How can you go wrong ?

This is a fine resturant serving fresh local food. It has a michelin star and should be listed on trip advisor
We were recommended by the people of our B&B to go here. They mentioned that the food was great and it was! The plates were beautiful and it tasted even better. This in combination with a great wine. Also the staff was friendly and nice. Just go and experience it yourself.

Visited with English friends who live nearby. Thursday evening so it was quiet. Apparently lunchtime is very busy so best to book if you visit at that time. The food is excellently presented and superb quality. I had steak which I asked to be cooked well done - I thought the chef might think that was sacrilege - but no, it was cooked perfectly for me. Desserts also very tasty, together with a very fine red wine. And at 45 euros each for fine-dining this is excellent value for money. I wish this chef every success. My friends and I will certainly visit again.Thank you for your comment. We are delighted that you have had a good time.We will be happy to welcome you in a future pass.

Wandering around the âold bitâ of Domfront didnât seem to come across many places to eat and in hindsight think some of the recommended places on Tripadvisor are those in the âmodern bitâ. Still Au Bar Normand looks the part being traditional and opposite the church ( albeit the later actually being fairly modern!). Itâs small inside with a bar at the front and a few tables at the back for food. The menu is pretty basic but the price is reasonable. Food equally straightforward but on our visit of the plate of the day - either quiche or roast chicken - more than did the job for an easy lunch. We had the chicken. Iâm not sure they speak much English but seemed to get by with our basic French. Not the place for your gastronomy but reassuringly authentic.

After a 7 hour day on the road, we had problems finding a place to eat that was open in Domfront, but eventually found 'The Grill'. It turned out to be an oasis for tired travellers. We weren't starving, but the menu is extensive, catering for snacks through to those seeking more serious dining. We opted for one of their salads, which were crisp, colourful & much better than any salad I have eaten in Aust. Then, my spouse chose the Normandy burger which came with the obligatory basket of fries & a small side salad. The burger was a little rarer than we would normally see in our part of the world, but juicy & tasty, nonetheless. I ordered a Croque Monsieur which also came with fries, a fried egg & a sausage. More than I could eat, but very tasty & just what was needed after a long day. Not a lot of English spoken, but the menu was written in both English & French & we managed to make ourselves understood with our limited French vocabulary. The meal was accompanied by 2 pitchers (pichet) of local Rose wine which went well with the meal. Overall a very good experience & can recommend to anyone in the area.

My wife and I ate in the hotel Grill. It was not a visit to rave over: on the other hand it was an agreeable meal at a reasonable price albeit service was a little slow.

A wet cold evening in the medieval streets pf Domfront, I was really glad to get inside the Bistro. Although I had eaten here before it was always in the Summer, when I had sat outside. The interior is simple and comfortable with only the plate glass windows out of synch with the setting. Service and presentation was excellent and the food was a delight to the eye and the palate. My companion assured me that it was also a pleasure for his wallet!Although in a prime position this is no tourist trap - it is one of the best places to eat for a simple relaxing meal.

We have visited several times in the past and always found this restaurant to be excellent, and was a little worried about some of the mixed reviews posted since it changed ownership. However we had no need to worry. The food was excellent and the staff were attentive and friendly. By the time we left, we were one of the first in when it opened, the place was nearly full. I think that says it all as on the way back to our car we passed several other local restaurants that were... well... empty!

We were looking for a place to lunch outside in the shadow, but saw that the terras was full. One of the waiters came to us and when we told him what we wanted he said we could wait for 5 minutes for a table. Great service there! In no time a table was set in place for us. The food was wonderful and we could choose from a lot of desserts. Service was friendly amd swift. Next time weâre in the neighbourhood weâll definitely eat here again.
