Our Chef de Cuisine Peter Knogl awaits you in the Cheval Blanc with a symphony of aromas, colours and harmonious tastes. Ingeniously prepared from the best nature has to offer us. The team of the Cheval Blanc has earned a place among the 100 best restaura
As you would expect, this 3 Michelin star restaurant is excellent in all respects. The Chef de Cuisine Peter Knogl was in the kitchen and Le Menu of 5 courses (without cheese) at 220 CHF provided some exciting, innovative dishes as follows: Hamachi japonais, ponzu, radish and avocado; langoustine, madras curry and Granny Smith apple; St. Pierre and green beans; Bresse pigeon and Tasmanian pepper; and Champagne, raspberries, mint and kalmansi. The Pigeon was our favourite, but they were all delicious and the presentation superb. The wine suggested was an excellent bottle of local Swiss pinot noir (less than 10km from Basel). The service was very good, perhaps a little understated. Delightful, moderate-sized room in this historic hotel made for a lovely evening.Dear GuestMany thanks for your detailed description and your great feedback of your recent visit at the Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl. We are delighted to read that with our cuisine, service and wine recommendation, we could create a perfect dinner evening. We hope that this special occasion will remain a long lasting memory for you and look forward to welcoming you back soon.Yours sincerelyTanja WegmannGeneral Manager

Very nice family runned Restaurant/Hotel, it's a very nice typical/local building. It's in the center of the village near the church. They have a nice garden & terrasse, you can have apperitive on the terrasse. They have comprehensive menu's for everyone something, and if not they are very helpful to give what you fancy. Excellent food and since we had assorted wines, it was gordious ! Very professional friendly and attentionate staff ! Worth going !!!

For a slightly moderately expensive meal, this restaurant provides good value compared to others in the area. The menu is varied and the food of a high quality. The service is pretty good, although there can be a long delay before dessert or coffee. The atmosphere is friendly and cozy and is probably most suited to winter meals out.

Had dinner here because we were staying at the hotel, so convenient. Staff were welcoming and polite, but service was rather slow and disjointed. The menu has a list re allergies and the numbers are shown beside each meal/item on the menu. Being gluten free, I was anxious to make sure that my food was exactly that. However, noticed that a dish indicated as being gluten free contained pasta. When querying it with the waiter, he said yes, definitely gluten free, but he would check with the kitchen. Of course he returned to say it did contain gluten. Same story for one of the deserts, which was indicated as gluten free, but was not and again with the waiter saying it was and reporting back from the kitchen to confirm that it was not gluten free.In the end I ordered fish, which was gluten free, but disappointing in that it was tepid and not warm at all. The bread placed on the table was not gluten free and the waiter finally offered to get some that was, which by the time he returned with it was far too late as we had finished our meal. For two people 80euros, which covered 3 glasses of wine, bottle of water two mains and two deserts; but the service could have been a lot better as could clarity re gluten free have been.

I saw this place being built and it was nice to see another restaurant opening in Blotzheim. Unfortunately the food is pretty rubbish & nothing special at all and the service is ok but nothing special. Was charged for stuff we didn't have. Have been twice to give it a second chance but was worse the second time.

Great tasty and juicy Black Angus steak, no need for sauce or mustard like a lot of French steaks. Wife had Strogonoff also great. Standard/ordinary exterior doesn't prepare you for a really lovely modern interior,Two meals and two lovely desserts + 4 beers for 72⬠was great value at a this restaurant/brasserie with really attentive and friendly staff,

The menu is very balanced, with a couple of classics A la Card, and slightly different special menus. The dishes are prepared with care, and it shows. They are little works of art. i tried the "Plaisir" menu, with both fish and meat. perfectly cooked. Portions are relatively large. A good start and sign of things to come is the amuse, very special (although also relatively large). A special point is the service: although the personnel was young/in training, everything was done professional, and little introductions to each meal. Perfect.

Le Colombier is a restaurant located in Bartenheim La Chaussee. Due to our fresh products, the menu changes regularly. Our cave counts more than 180 different wines! In summer, you can benefit from our shaded terrace...
Living in Basel, we are always on the lookout for good restaurants nearby. Saw this on TA, and I popped down for lunch earlier this week. they had a Menu du jour which comprised a quiche to start and some chicken on a bed of risotto. Both were excellent, so I decided to come back for dinner a few days later with the wife. I had a set menu and the wife ordered a starter and a main off the menu. The starters were excellent, including a guinea fowl terrine of sorts. For mains, the scallop croque monsieur (really a salmon and scallop sandwich made like a croque monsieur) was great. I had a duck breast on a bed of risotto. I enjoyed the risotto but the duck breast was a tad too overcooked for my liking. Service was good throughout, and they have an English menu for non-French speakers. The set lunch is very good value at 14EUR. The dinner menu and the wine menu are reasonably priced - we had a decent Bordeaux for 30EUR.
