With a 23 Euro menu including Foie Gras à volonté (As much as you want) and as my wife is rather fond of it we went. Nice outdoor setting with quite a few people eating. Started with a Fresh Salade de Gesiers and my wife had a Salade de Chevre (served in a very light pasty) - excellent, fresh, great ingredients, we liked the touch of honey in the salad dressing. Then we had some toast and a very tasty foie gras - not too much, but very enjoyable with the house wine from Fronton. The Brochette de boeuf and the brochette de canard were delicious, perfectly cooked and served hot with a salad and roasted potatoes, all local produce. We did not even have a dessert but it was a memorable and excellent meal with great service.

Had a strange seafood pizza that had cream instead of tomato topping, actually a bit sickly. OH had omelette and chips which were fine. Each had small carafe of wine that was very good.

We were looking for a nice restaurant in a small town before heading to a wedding. We found "L'estanquet" and decided to enter. I tried the duck nems to start (because duck meat is typical in South West France). I was impressed to see that the combination of the nems roll and this meat was incredibly good. ThenThen I choses fish with mashed potatoes (purée) and it was also good (and pretty big piece of fish). The waitress was smiling and nice.I definitely recommend this restaurant.Nicolas

We happened on this little restaurant by pure chance but what a find! Obviously popular with locals this was busy on a Thursday lunchtime. A 3 course lunch for â¬13. Main course was turkey kebabs perfectly cooked with couscous and salad. We were ask if we wanted chips, they where freshly cooked, and along with coffee and wine all at no extra charge this was truly exceptional value. All served with great friendliness..Fantastic!

If you are looking for haute cuisine, then this is not the place for you. Chez Antoine is in a "big shed" at the back of a large Leader Price store, but what it lacks in ambiance (difficult to dress up a large metal box, but they do their best and it is not in any way unpleasant) it certainly makes up for in welcome and in the quality of their beef rib steak. At 51 euros for two persons, it's not cheap either, but it is delicious. They offer 'formule' dishes too at the usual very reasonable price and the house wine is pleasant. It is certainly worth a try if you are visiting Auterive's great market on a Friday morning!
