This delightful restaurant is ideally located in the countryside, adjacent to the river, and overlooking a lake. Just wonderful. Our host Francoise was so friendly and was clearly so proud of their restaurant and their amazing food. Everything was just right about this foodie heaven, and it will be a long time before I forget those gastronomic delights.

Stopped here for lunch whilst travelling around sightseeing. They don't speak much English - unfortunately we dont speak much French but we got by. I would say the service was OK. We had no idea how we placed a food order as there were no menus. There was a decent choice on a blackboard which I went to and pointed out what we wanted - we did have to ask for extra drinks. We had the cheese plat to start between us at 9 Euros was a little on the expensive side for what we got. We were also given some bread but you would have broken teeth eating it! I think it had been in their box since the morning and it had rapidly gone stale. I had the fish and chips and Hubby had the chicken a chips and both were great. The chicken had a spicy coating on it which he said was very tasty. We enjoyed them. We were given some more bread which was not stale this time! They ran out of beer but no problem I had some wine which was fine. Cost with two coke zeros 49 euros. I would come back here - I guess that says it all.

Typically French cuisine (pate for starter, and duck as main course with cheese as dessert) in a good warm setting. The Cheese plate as a dessert is really recommendable since you may choose and select your portion.

We were a group of four staying at the nearby Chateau Verrerie and this restaurant was recommended and booked by the housekeeper there. It didn't appear to be much more than a standard small-town hotel restaurant when we pulled up, so we were in for a surprise with its excellent cuisine - also the service was very good: both friendly and very professional. I had a lovely starter with green asparagus and a poached egg with sauce, apparently a local specialty (I also had it later in our holiday week at another Loire Valley restaurant). Other starters our group had were a variation of two pates and the languostina, all very good. Then we had delicious beef filet and lamb as our mains. All dishes were tastefully, but not too fussily, presented. The cheeses were brought out in a sort of secretaire desk with drawers, so much nicer than the average wheeled tray. There were several excellent Sancerre wines on the menu. HIghly recommended!Thank you for your nice comment. Sometimes with lucky coincidence, you meet a pleasant restaurant even it doesn't look much at 1st sight. We are happy that your friends and you had a great moment in our restaurant, thanks to our cuisine and our team.
