An easy and inspired cuisine. Modern bistro, totally renovated in January 2016, Le Jardin d'Alice's atmosphere is elegant and colorful. Marc Meurin invites you to taste an inventive and creative cuisine, inspired by the local products.
We ate here on the last night of our holiday and as a treat for my birthday. The setting for the brasserie is stunning and the place is beautifully decorated and maintained. The seating is not all that comfortable and we did not much enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant-a little starchy and self-important. The staff were friendly enough and extremely efficient. We had the 32 Euro menu and it was really good. I particularly enjoyed the langoustine soup. The wine list was ok but not exceptional. We loved the food but could have had a happier evening in a less over hyped environment

A good setting, and a good dining room. Friendly staff and an interesting menu, although I happily gave the ris de veau a miss for the very good cod dish.

Marc Meurin pays a tribute to local breeders and producers, cooking shellfish from the Channel as well as fish and crustaceans from northern seas. His creations are to be enjoyed in his two restaurants offering a well-attended service.
Our dinner at Marc Meurin's restaurant at the Chateau de Beaulieu was the finest meal we have ever experienced in our many years of travel through France. We chose the four-course menu with the sommelier's selection of wines. Each dish was a perfect symphony of colours, textures and taste. The amuse-bouches and mignardises were stupendous, the breads and regional cheeses superb, the poached oyster out of this world. M Meurin deserves a third rosette from Michelin; the current two do not do him justice. The restaurant, with comfortable hotel accommodation, opened only twelve years ago and is less than one hour's drive from Calais. Very highly recommended!

Went in at about 6.30pm with no reservation and was seated straight away. Very nice decor with a lot of wood and good lighting. We had the window seat so had a clear view of the square. Food and drinks came quickly and the minced beef with melted cheese burgers were delicious at 14 Euros each. Chips were a let down for me as they appeared to be oven chips. Had a proper salad and not just a few leaves. Overall good experience.

New restaurant in Aire sur la Lys which needs to get a few détails sorted ....bread and butter had to be requested with plate of -good- smoked salmon which came with no dressing and 2 tiny cold blini halves, mistakes on the bill (two extra glasses of wine) which although speedily rectified when pointed out shouldn't have occured in the first place.....expensive for this type of restaurant which is a disadvantage of having to order à la carte (no choices on fixed price menu which I don't think was available in the evening anyway). Charming service by young waitress and meat of good quality.....so redeeming features but room for improvement.

We stayed at Chateau Philomel, Lillers. The owner recommended this restaurant. About 20 mins drive away. We have been twice. A beautiful retaurant. Gastronomique.
This is a real discovery of a restaurant in a sleepy village. Generally excellent all round, with some very well priced set menus with excellent food. I were to raise some criticisms I would say the wine list is a little pricey and the dining room is a little cold and sparse.

We were well looked after in an establishment that probably doesn't get many English tourists. There is a wide selection on offer but i suspect that most is bought in and re-heated. . That said it was tasty and there are some 'billy bunter' sized man course dishes. Good value wine and I discovered a great beer - 3 Monts which in a 75cl bottle and at 8.5% proof turns out to be very refreshing and great value. However, the place was packed with locals so they must be doing something right

We had lunch in Le Moulin Rouge and thought it was excellent. The service was particularly good and all of the staff were efficient and friendly. The food was really enjoyable and the menu was quite extensive. The portions were generous and we left feeling we had enjoyed a substantial meal. The decor was pleasant and the cheerful atmosphere in the restaurant added to the experience. We will certainly go back.

Looking for an early supper in Aire-sur-la-Lys, we ran out of suitable places on the main square so went "round the corner" and came across Le New Lys restaurant.A very friendly "patron" welcomed us both in and we had a hearty couple of meals plus two beers and a soft drink for 35 Euros (excluding service)......the pave de jambon was exceptionally hearty and we had to admit defeat and did not clear the plate! An unpretentious restaurant with many local customers, Le New Lys offers very good value for money...well done, M'siuer!
