Three Renoved Rooms In Soft Colors And The Garden Can Accomodate Both Family Meels And Little Groups.
L'Abricotier boasts a Michelin Bib Gourmand but it's hard to say why. This semi-rural restaurant-with-rooms is immediately opposite the main-line railway from Bordeaux to Toulouse: although the bedrooms mostly face the other way, it is hardly in a desirable setting. Nonetheless, the pretty garden behind the building retains considerable charm. There is an attractive small swimming pool, generous parking, and the shaded dining terrace is a most attractive. The cooking is thoroughly decent but also rather ordinary. One eats well enough here, but sadly there is no sign of the extra refinement or added creativity that would justify its Bib Gourmand. What has happened here since Michelin first granted its accolade, and have they not been here recently? However, it is not a bad address. The service is courteous and the food is perfectly pleasant, if routine. We enjoyed our simple dinner here: if our expectations had been lower, we might have enjoyed it even more. What a pity that the Michelin Guide is not more reliable.

This bistrot was featured in Rick Stein's TV programme "French Odyssey" some ten years ago. During our one week holiday near Bazas, we had occasion to sample boeuf de Bazas (beef from the Bazadais breed of cattle) buying it from local butchers and grilling it ourselves. After visiting the outdoor market in Bazas, we decided to have lunch at this restaurant in the cathedral square. My husband ordered the entrecote while I chose confit de canard (duck confit). I was disappointed with my dish as it was overcooked and dry. Some parts of the duck leg were burnt and the meat was tough. This is a classic dish which most French bistro/brasserie can do very well but sadly this place did not meet the mark. In fact those prepared vacuum packed duck confit bought from French supermarkets would taste better than what I had in this bistrot. Fortunately my husband had better luck with his order. Then again, with a great piece of beef from the prized cattle, you can't go wrong, cooking it. The portion of steak was huge. Both dishes came with frites, lettuce. half tomato and overcooked fine beans. The entrecote was quite pricey at Euro 25 while the confit de canard was reasonable at Euro 13. My husband recommends the Bazadais beef and especially the steak at this restaurant.Service was fine despite a busy Saturday afternoon.

An expensive evening meal, food disappointing, no sauce on the sturgeon, and v small amount of pureed spinach, felt hungry after main and dessert - think it came straight out of the fridge/freezer......

My wife and I have visited this restaurant in the charming town of Bazas several times in the past few years and had some interesting meals. I am sorry to say that we were disappointed on this occasion. We both had scallops for starter but these were cooked in an almost inedible vinegar sauce. I just donât know what the chef was trying to do here but it didnât work. If it were not for the quality of the scallops we would have sent the dish back. For main course I had a steak which was tasty enough and my wife had cod but unfortunately it came with a watered down version of the sauce we had with our starter. Not only that, but the cod had clearly just been defrosted and came to the table as a mushy and tasteless piece of fish. Our waitress was attentive and helpful but she clearly saw we were not enjoying our dining experience. We decided not to risk having a dessert and left.Maybe we just visited on an off night but you really canât serve food like this and expect rave reviews.

As an Englishman, I can't believe how lucky the French can be: not only do they have their own cuisine, but now they've stolen fish and chips and turned them into an art form! Perfectly cooked cod in beautiful batter served in a paper wrapper (properly hygienic, not like the good old days of newspaper!) with excellent chips and a lovely salad in the heart of France - sacré bleu! I was lucky enough to be able to compliment the chef in person and hope to be able to do the same again soon - well worth the trip.

We stopped in the village of Bazas to see the cathedral and found a great find in Le Boeuf Pop. Fantastic local beef ...excellent steak and prepared to perfection. The duck and vegetarian dishes were also very good. This restaurant was full at lunchtime, always a good sign, and run with a lot of good humoured. The owners do a great job and keep the eatery lively and entertaining. Great experience.

Jerome Schillingâs cuisine resides not only in his experience and expertise, but also and above all in this pursuit of the unique and untested. The menu is designed to reflect the specific features of each vintage and the carefully selected produce.
This restaurant was incredibly special- from start to finish the food was superb, creative, artistic, fresh and delicious. - service impeccable. Owned in part by Lalique, the crystal and decor was lovely. Would definitely recommend this as a special place for a memorable dinner- Dear Bostongirl, Thank you very much for taking time to review our restaurant. We are glad you enjoyed your experience and hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you again. Justine FleureuxPR Manager

A small family run restaurant, run just by the husband (who cooks and serves) and the wife who serves. The other lunch customers when we were here were small groups of 6 to 8 people. We had the set price 15⬠menu, which was a bit adventurous in that the main course was tête de veau . Probably something I would not have chosen myself, but was glad to have tried it (don't think I would have it again mind you). I pondered over what a group of Japanese tourists made of it.The service was friendly. Although the restaurant is surrounded by vineyards, the view is blocked by their above ground swimming pool. This is a "real" French restaurant, serving real French food. It is very good value for money

I took my parents for a combined Motherâs and Fatherâs Day celebration for a Sunday lunch. Two menus or a la carte and plenty of choice. The waitress was knowledgable about the dishes which is always a good sign. In the end, an excellent meal with lots of flavours, local produce and super wines. And the view speaks for itself. Superb experience!

We were on our way for some wine tasting and found the Chateau Guiraud Vineyard. The tour guild at the Chateau suggested this restaurant, since we had 2 hours before our tour. Auberge les Vignes was super easy to find in this adorable tiny village.....the food was amazing and the waitress was very kind and did her best to communicate with the little English she did know. The restaurant was very clean and with a lot of locals! I hope this helps!
