Great place to impress friends and family with terrific (yet affordable) French country dining. During the summers, outdoor dining on the patio is an experience not to be missed. Food and presentation is consistently outstanding. Portions are generous, good value. Always busy so reserve in advance.

We stayed in the Hotel du Parc which contains the casino. We did go in a few evenings. The casino is quite small with 2 tables but there are plenty of machines. You need to provide ID every time you are going in. Refreshments were provided - soft drinks & croissants. I even won â¬28 one night!Dear Tootyg, Thank you to have choise the hotel du parc for your stay in bearn. Effectively, we need your ID or passport when you want go in the casino, it's the law. Normaly when it's the same staff, if you go out and come back, you dont have to give again your ID. We have two tables, one of black jack open 20 to 1 or 3, and another table of english roulette open only friday and saturday night 20 to 3.We stay at your disposal for maybe another stay in our etablishmentKind regard

One of the best meals I have had in France or elsewhere. 28 euro set menu, 3 wonderful courses with great choice. Lovely terrace overlooking a garden. Truly imaginative food and loads of it. Foie gras and smoked duck salad starter (or sesame seed dressed chicken); main St Pierre (like plaice); dessert a simply superb lemon moelleux cake with home made curd and sauce. Decent wine at 1.80 a glass and free water.Dear Palm2101, We thank you very much for your compliments. We are rather proud of our St Pierre and it's nice to you to point out of it.Hoping see you very soon in the Béarn again, Best Regards

If you want small portions of artistic food served with flower petals to decorate the plate then La Tannerie is not for you. However, if you are looking for a warm welcome in a family run restaurant with good well cooked food in clean surroundings with a pleasant ambiance and good value for money, then you may like this. Not many tourists in here, but plenty of local customers.Open every day, it's really useful on a Monday when so many others are closed.I went here twice during my three night stay and was delighted with everything on both occasions. Limited menu and wine list but everything was fresh, delicious and sensibly priced. I liked it a lot.

We sat inside for dinner although there is a lovely space outside for eating and a nice bar by the pool. The food was excellent. I only wanted steak with frites and that is exactly what I got - and it was perfect. The service was a little erratic but everyone was very helpful and it all worked in the end.

A fairly recently opened restaurant, we went for lunch, (14 euros for the menu), the food was very fresh, appetising and obviously locally purchased. The service was very quick. Presentation of the food was original. It all tasted delicious, especially the dessert, a lemon meringue pot. I would really recommend this restaurant. We arrived at 12 but very soon the place was full which is a testimony to their success. Well done to the young chef.

We had been here twice on a previous holiday so were keen to return as we had good memories. You absolutely have to reserve a table here, ideally a day or two before. We went for lunch and sat inside as it was a bit drizzly. The manager/waiter/all round busy man was nothing but lovely to us, but others find his manner brusque, but I think that is because he is so incredibly busy. They primarily serve pizzas. The menu is huge and caters for everyone. However, they also have daily specials involving meat and vegetables usually, plus a good value lunch special whereby a pizza comes with a salad and a coffee and the special comes with a dessert and a coffee. I had an anchovy and tuna pizza and they kindly substituted the creme fraiche for a tomato base. The pizza base was thin and cooked to perfection. My husband had a chicken dish with mash and salad. Our desserts were chocolate mousse with the set menu, but there are 3 other daily desserts you can choose from and one looked amazing, a kind of chocolate and mango Mille feuille (excuse spelling). We returned a couple of days later before heading off to the airport and were very happy again. It opened at 12.15 and by 12.25 it was 'complet' (fully booked). Every restaurant in Salies needs a reservation btw.

We tried several times to go there & they were either not open or booked out. We finally managed for lunch on our last day although they were full & we had to come back an hour and a half later. The wait was worthwhile as the local food produced was magnificent. We started with a shared plate of grande ardoise followed by a burger de beef for her & la blonde du Boucher for me.(beef burger & steak from the local blonde cattle). All washed down with a local red. Proprietors are very friendly & speak good English.

Restaurant situe a deux pas de la place du bayaa, cuisine de produits frais et locaux.
A quiet and neat restaurant at the town's center. Great flavours and textures. It was nice to see they had a reduced menu for kids. Worth a visit!
