This is a pleasant ski chalet type restaurant with a working wood fireplace which adds to its charm. The prices are fair and the portions very ample. I was very tired when I ate there but enjoyed it. It would be even nicer and cozier when the snow is on the ground. It's in the mountains and a good place to eat if you are staying in Le Sappey en Chartreuse.Thank you for your opinion. Hope to see you here.

I work abroad a great deal and during a recent two week stay in Grenoble my partner flew out on the weekend to join me and explore the area. The journey up on the Railway was a treat with superb views and a very friendly train conductor, unfortunately the entire day was then wrecked by the treatment we received in this restaurant, on arrival we sat ourselves down on the terrace we were initially ignored but eventually managed to attract the waitresses attention and ordered some wine, this was delivered minus any glasses and from here things went from bad to worse. They were disinterested in taking our order and the food took an age to arrive and when it did finally arrive I had the wrong meal and my partner was missing her side dish, when I complained they took away my food and told me my original choice was not available. The waitress then left without leaving me with a menu to choose an alternative, I had to follow her inside and place a new order, my partners side dish had not arrived by the time she had finished her meal and neither had my meal. When eventually my meal did arrive it was dumped unceremoniously in front of me and was cold.At this point we should have walked away but being typically British we stayed in the hope we could get coffee and things would improve, to cap things off my partners side dish arrived as we stood up to leave.I travel extensively with my job in Europe, the middle East and India I can say with certainty that this is the worst treatment I have ever experienced in a restaurant anywhere. The only thing I can think of to mitigate in their favour was that perhaps we were supposed to wait to be seated and they took against us because of that? there were, however no signs to say as such and my partner speaks French very well, even then, to bring us the wrong food and expect us to eat it without complaining is quite stunning. A horrible experience. One star for the view.

Ambitious talented chef serving nicely balanced creative dishes combining ingredients and tastes well together. The service was professional. Despited having opened only 15days earlier and with a fully booked restaurant (approx 25 couverts), the service was fluent and nearly flawless. The first wine (1 glas) we had chosen was not up to our expectations and the staff made no problem to replace the wine with a different wine at no charge. The appetiser (mise en bouche) gratin dauphinois re-invented was uninspiring with too much garlic and we thought we made a mistake but then when the first course came we were immediately saw what the chef was capable for and were very pleased till the end. The chef came to personally great us at the end and solicited feedback. We were 2p and each took a different menu (4 course Tour d' Horizon at 44eur + 5 course Diapason at 64eur) so we could share and taste a maximum of dishes and were pleased with all. Highly recommended

Came here for lunch on a Friday. This is a very nice, very new seeming restaurant, quite modern, quite green and very pleasant. Quite a lot of space both for the bar area and for seating giving it an unhurried feel. The plates were tasty and although not a big fan of cinnamon, the cinnamon in the gravy with the prok was not overpowering but quite nice and made things a little different.Prices are around average but the food is very nice. I would suggest not to come if you are in a major hurry though, it seems to be a husband and wife team and with just one server (the wife) service can be slow when the restaurant is full.

My Belgian girlfriend - this should have already established by appreciation of fine food (the very best eating is done in Belgium) and my superb taste in women - and I live to eat!We have had the good fortune to have eaten in many of the world's most accomplished restaurants including the Number 1 rated restaurant in the entire world: El Celler de can Roca which should be rated higher than Number 1.My Belgian girlfriend is also a passionate paraglider - nobody is perfect - and last September she invited me to sleep in her car (only the best for us) and attend the ICARE Paragliding Festival near the town of CROLLES - which sounds a little like a skin disease, and is.The festival was cancelled because the wind was not cooperating, so I suggested a fine lunch instead. Not around here she replied, the restaurants are terrible. As it turns out she was wrong. We stopped into a bar and asked where was the best place to eat and we were told to go to La Tour Des Sens. In brief: it was wonderful! So good we made plans to return as soon as our busy schedule allowed for the locally reputed: "Chef's Table".WHAT HAS THIS GOT TO DO WITH L'ENVOL DES SAVEURS...We live about two hours drive from La Tour des Sens which necessitated a night's stay in the PRADOTEL (one of the most disappointing breakfasts I have ever refused to eat) in Crolles, so when we arrived at La Tour des Sens and found the restaurant CLOSED we were already committed to the hotel as we had checked in and used the facilities. We were committed and I was ready to be committed. I was livid. I am a red-headed Scot who lost his hair forty years ago but not his temper. I obviously can't repeat the language I used to describe the incompetence, rudeness, arrogance of the owners of La Tour de Sens, to leave us totally stranded, not to mention the cost of the fuel, the night in the hotel, twenty euros wasted on breakfast etc. etc. What were we to do?My girlfriend repeated that there were no good restaurants in the area and I was about to believe her and hire an arsonist to burn down La Tour des Sens when we stumbled upon L'Envol des Saveurs... where we enjoyed a wonderful dinner for a fraction of what it would have cost in La Tour des Sens.If you are in the area for business or for jumping off the side of mountains hanging precipitously beneath the equivalent of a bed sheet - GO THERE YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.As for the Pradotel, it is probably the best hotel in the area - but that is not saying much.As for La Tour des Sens we are still waiting for an explanation and an apology...

I did not understand the significance of the restaurant name but it refers to a hot stone( the translation of pierre chaude)on which one cooks a selection of meats at our table! They advertise it as smoke and odor free and they were right! We chose a combination of beef, turkey, duck, and veal, which came in very thin slices, for each of us to cook. Along with this came four different flavored mayonnaises: herb, garlic, mustard, and something spicy I did not try. We all agreed we like the herb the best. It also came with a big bowl of steamed potatoes and a sour cream sauce flavored with chives and roquefort cheese. it was a relaxing main course and our waitress who was just delightful stopped by to ask us if the stone needed to be replaced with a hotter one, which we did once. We began this prix fixe meal with three different starters: a duck paté, an assortment of charcuterie(various hams and sausages and a country paté), and a cheese melted on bread served with salad. The meal itself did not come with salad, so I recommend adding one. It was a good balance for a hefty meal. We found the wine fairly priced but after tasting a pitcher of the local red switched to a wonderful burgundy. We have found that the white wines from the region are more drinkable, and so fairly priced compared to back home. For dessert, they had the normal evil French choices, all yummy, with a few using the local liqueur Chartreuse. I had profiteroles and my companions both had tarte tatin, an upside down apple tart. While it did not have a caramelized coating on the apples, which one would normally expect, it was indeed delicious.Definitely a fun meal I would try once. You would need to decide if you would try it a second time, but we watched delighted families with kids having the pierre chaude dish, and it is great for a lingering Sunday dinner which this was. We were there almost three hours and were very happy.

Very average lunch, despite what looked like a lovely atmosphere and a good menu. My daughter had the small burger with chicken. Served on top of a rosti instead of bread I thought was a nice and innovative touch but the flavouring of the chicken was clearly out of a packet. My husband's omelette was very flaccid and grey in colour so not very appetising.Beautiful location and charming decor so a bit of a shame really. Cordialement.Madam,Thank you for your comment, I am unfortunately very surprised of that this but I would like to bring you some answers. Our chicken comes directly from our butcher, thus it is a fresh product and a premises, not taken out of a bag. Our chef, too managing of the restaurant, prepares this chicken he even with some spices "Mexican" way which we like mixing in the guacamole. As for the omelet, maybe would have wanted him to you a little firmer, but when we speak about omelet at our home, she owes be slightly "dribbling" as we say. And for the grey color, it is the preparation house of the mushrooms which we put in our omelets.Really sorry that it did not please you.Cordially.

We visted Oreade for a sauna and bath during a rainy day. The sauna is good! Worth a visit... But, the restaurant is not really good. We had steak that was 'over done' (we asked medium rare), salad leaves with starter was really old and not looking fresh and all dishes had balsamico on the plate. Too strong! Small choice - two menu options. Wine, however, was good and worth it's price. Service was friendly.HelloThank you for your comments. We take them into account.Concerning cooking of the meat, do not hesitate to tell us if cooking is not respected, either we will recook it or replace it by a less cooked steak.Actually we have made the choice to use balsamico cream to decorate plates and to add a special taste with acid touch. Objective is to use it when necessary and in quantities that do not “disturb” the main taste of the dish. It is effectively a bit strong and probably does not suit to all palates. All our dishes are home-made, with fresh and seasonal products. In order not to waste food, we cannot offer too much choice of menus. Two menus are offered to clients and they change quite often (one daily). And in case you do not like something, we always try to find something else that will suit you, just do not hesitate to ask us (the same if you have allergy or specific diet).Hope to see you soon in the spa and restaurant in St Pierre de Chartreuse
