Ate here twice while on a cycling holiday. From the outside it looks a bit like a burger bar but inside it is clean, bright and lively. Many locals use it as a bar as well as restaurant. If you are looking for a decent meal without paying a fortune this fits the bill. Wide menu with a slant to the Italian - the fresh pasta was especially good. The wine by the pichet was good value. And a big bonus - open on a Sunday evening.

I LOVE Sopar. This restaurant a little bit outside the center of La Toussuire was created by 2 friends who wanted 'something different' form the traditional restaurants in de Savoie villages. The interior is very loungy with a great visible wine cellar and the music is modern. Both guys are super friendly and very attentive to what you want. You always get a small appetizer before the meal, which is great while you are drinking your 'aperitif'. Imagine being able to order a Gin-Tonic in the Savoie, which is not a Gordon's gin :-) The only improvement would be that they should serve another kind of tonic than traditional Schweppes tonic. The first time we went we ate lamb and it was remarkably prepared. The meat fell from the bone. Everyday they also another desert and it is superb. We also went the second time to eat a more traditional dish, ie a Cheese fondue and a raclette (I guess they have to do it as customers want it). Well, even that was a completely delightful and different experience form the traditional restaurants at the 'front de neige'. The meat we received was high quality, the cheese was high quality and even the little pieces of bread were exquisite.I should also not forget to talk about the wine. It is not cheap but is it exceptionally good. They have a lot of wine from the Savoie but definitely not those 5 euro wines where you get a headache the following day. The waiter knew exactly what to match with our food and he never took the most expensive wine.I really recommend this restaurant to all those who want to try something different and with a great atmosphere, incredible food and super owners. We will go back when are in La Toussuire. PS: you can also go with kids as they have a kids menu ;-))Dear Knarf,Thank you so much for your fantastic review!!! We are proud of our products and wine selection and delighted that you appreciated it.We are really involved in our guests satisfaction so we are MORE THAN HAPPY you enjoyed your meals in our restaurant. Hope to see you back!

In a small town in Savoi famous for its cycling and skiing possibilities, its also a small restaurant with a playful more than traditional menue... Its Le Gavroche! From tasteful snails, freshwater short travelled fish and seafood (hello, do we talk the Alps here?) to huge portions of frit and meat, all presented in a playful way (They do have fun with tradition in that kitschen without forgetting their roots) to a well selected wine cellar, accompanied by a charming service, it all works! The prices Are good... just enjoy!Dear guests, thank you so much !Next time you visit us, we will offer a new restaurant and new spot facing the old Gavroche, no. 44 place marché. Phone number, staff, prices, welcome and good wines will not change.Come back next year, we wait for you ! Regards, Magali & Sébastien

My third time eating here. Food and service are very good. A nice treat in a small town that unfortunately looks like it is going through economic difficulty.Food is expertly prepared and service is prompt and efficient.Cheese cart is fantastic.Only drawback on this visit was the wine list was lacking.....many choices unavailable and penciled out. Limited selection.
