At the heart of black Périgord in the golden triangle Lascaux Lascaux/Sarlat/Les Lascaux/Sarlat/Les Lascaux/Sarlat/Les Eyzies, in 5mn Caves of Lascaux, 7mn of Montignac and 15mn of Sarlat, the Domain of the Country(Soil) proposes you a Restaurant, a Hotel
While the restaurant setting and ambiance were wonderful, with a dramatic view of the valley falling away, the food didn't come anywhere near to matching it.The restaurant provided a very poor meal. All courses were tasteless, cold and lacking in anything that makes french cuisine so good. The beer was nice and cold and that was the highlight of the meal. The hotel rooms were adequate and included really nice coffee making which as a nice surprise. All the positive reviews were provided by people with very limited (1 only) reviews to their credit?

If you enjoy authentic regional cuisine in a rustic environment, surrounded by cheerful locals and pleasant waitresses, look no further. This is simply a great restaurant.Simple menus, great local food, good wine and plenty of time to absorb the amazing ambiance. We will return, but may need to run a few kilometres first to shed some weight! We simply loved this spot.

Looking for somewhere for lunch on a hut June day, we stumbled upon this shady, cool place, and wandered in. Greeted warmly by the waiter, and served a delicious choice of meals, including fresh salads with interesting ingredients, and tartiflette for those with bigger appetites.

some of the worst food we have ever had. rude service. meat totally overcooked. greasy. overpriced. generally terrible and resented parting with money at all.

The Hotel with restaurant Laborderie, at the heart of the golden triangle (Montignac, Sarlat, Eyzies de Tayac) is a family establishment since 1920 when reigns a friendly atmosphere, in a haven of peace.
Seven of us were staying at the luxurious nearby Combe Claire and catered for ourselves every night except two, when we succumbed to the fabulous food, service and atmosphere at this superb village hotel. The service was polite, discrete and tolerant of our rather boisterous party. There was a full house each time, we pre-booked and just managed to sneak in, but the food was superb and for â¬29 the three-course menu terroir was great value.Good local wine selection too, which of course we applied the 'when in Rome' principle to.Make sure you book to avoid disappointment - highly recommended.

This restaurant is located 5 km north of Sarlat and well worth the drive. It is on a major road and easy to find. After eating duck and foie gras for the past few days and after looking at the many similar menus in the old town, we decided to try something different and are so happy we did. Amazing meal: I donât like eggplant but his amuse bouche of aubergine âpearlsâ with pesto, mozzarella, balsamic was a wonderful combination of flavours. The seafood âsurpriseâ was an artfully plated platter of smoked salmon, perfectly cooked scallops, and seafood tartare with fish roe. The beef with bordelaise sauce was so good my husband wanted to lick the plate. We both thought the beef was better than the beef we recently had at a one star Michelin restaurant a few days ago. My chestnut cream dessert was excellent. The dinner menu (3 courses) for 29E each is an incredible value for this caliber of cooking. The waiter was excellent. The chef was welcoming, friendly, approachable and even showed us his array of specialty spices used to create his dishes. This is a must-do if you are in Sarlat!

This is one of the best places in the area for a simple meal with family or friends. It has a justifiably popular bar as well, and a lovely terrace for outdoor - but sheltered - eating, weather permitting. The staff are very friendly and professional.

From the middle-priced menu of three, with two choices per course, we both had a delicious starter of leeks and finely chopped duck cracking with a soft boiled egg on a crouton. It was artistically presented on a wooden platter. My main course was a whole baby cockerel and truffled mashed potato, Râs main was a magret de canard. Both were copious and cooked to perfection. There was a choice of veg included, with the truffled mashed potato at a supplement of 2 euros. There was so much of this that we regretted having ordered one each. I remarked that one could barely detect the truffle, and I was very politely told that the chef would be informed, AND they removed the supplement from our bill! By the time you get it, Iâm sure it will be delicious. The café gourmand was pleasant, if not the best we have had. With a half carafe of house red, our bill totaled 64 euros, which considering the charm of the surroundings makes this one of the most enjoyable meals we have had this year.

We were staying at a gite barely a hundred metres away and couldn't believe that a place this good was so close. We booked dinner for a large group and it could not have gone smoother. With lovely traditional simple yet well executed dishes, very efficient service and a pretty good price too. The six course 26 euro menu looks great value but we opted for the three courses at 22 and glad we did as the portions are generous. This place has rooms and also a lovely Terrace on warmer nights. It's popular at weekends so book. The magret and confit carnations were top notch. As were the deserts.

We sensed discomfort as soon as we arrived. The woman at the front desk did not take time to welcome us or show us to our seats; and she merely mumbled that what they serve is salad, pizza, and desert. We stood in the outdoor dining area asking waiters about seating in the shade. They tried to help, and no shaded table opened up. Finally a table for six opened up. The woman came in and roughly told us we couldnât sit there, so we asked about a table for four that she had just cleaned. She did not respond to our saying we needed shade and would gladly move to the more shaded table for four since one of us has a skin condition. We waited, and help never arrived. So after ten minutes, we just left. Some other reviewer commented about the âacueilâ so... This is a cute place on the river and we know locals who have had good meals here. Management should work on making it welcoming.
