Very friendly service, very nice food (I had the 3 course lunch, my wife had gambas, the kids had pasta). Honestly, I'd come back without hesitation. Another point in favour: It's not at the very crowded Place Gordaine.

Stopped going there last year for only one reason - we had eaten our way through the menu!I agree with some of the comments about the wine prices.Nice setting preferable (for me) to eat outside. Will be back again soon... to eat our way through the menu.

Hadnât booked but we were accommodated by the offer of sharing a table, which we did and had a very pleasant evening. Service wasnât very fast, but actually it didnât matter. Waitresses both spoke English. Opted for a menu de jour which was delicious and beautifully presented. The wine, recommended, was very good and not expensive. (Local Pinot noir). Had asparagus soup followed by guinea fowl which was a change from the menu but delicious.

We have been to French restaurants. They are special. This one is a find. From the minute we came thru the door, we were in food heaven. The 1st course through to desert. It will be on our list to return. thank you sir for this as friendly advice, it was a pleasure to welcome you and introduce you to our kitchencordiallyDidier Guyot

Excellent freshly cooked meal in small (10 table) restaurant. Good selection on menu and very friendly and helpful waitress. If you are in a hurry you will be disappointed!Recommended, we had Duck and Salmon, very tasty!

Last year, during a tour of the chateaux and vineyards of the Loire Valley, we indulged ourselves and on three consecutive nights we ate at 3 Michelin * restaurants. By far our favourite of the three was The Cercle in Bourges and as we were driving through the region, we decided that a second visit was very much in order - I'm glad we did. Although the lunch service is of course very different to the evening tasting menu which we so enjoyed last time around, at 3 courses for 26 euros, Cercle's lunch menu is embarrassingly good value which included the best pea soup I have ever tasted. That was our starter which was followed by, for me, a minced lamb kofte-esque burger with a fondant potato. Whilst this was very good, my partner's black cod with a carrot puree and roasted fennel was exceptional. My meal concluded with a selection of cheeses whilst my partner had a crème brulee two ways (one coffee and one almond) which got the thumbs up. Whilst it is very difficult to compare an evening tasting menu with the set lunch (the lunch being a third of the price of the dinner), we are very glad we took the detour to Cercle and would gladly return for a third visit the next time we are anywhere close to Bourges.

I was traipsing along the streets of Bourges, hoping to find a quiet, accommodating place to have some coffee and lunch. The bistros nearby seemed too smoky and loud, and the patisseries/boulangeries didn't serve coffee. (One place had a coin-op machine for espresso drinks. No. Just no.) I came to Delichou and had a fantastically delicious tarte du jambon et fromage, and coffee. The atmosphere is perfect for me: gentle solo guitar/harp/jazz playing on the system (as opposed to the techno one finds all too often in cafes in Paris) the proprietress was extremely friendly and gracious, and the clientele has been very friendly - I'm sitting near the door and everyone has nodded to me saying, 'Bonjour, Monsieur.' And, according to what my nose is telling me, someone is roasting a turkey in the kitchen. If it isn't turkey it's something else equally delicious-smelling. For a cafe experience in Bourges, one can not do better than Delichou.

Dined at La Pasta while on a one-night stopover in Bourges. It was a success. Near the centre of town, already full of local families when I arrived about 19.30, it was clearly a happy place. Despite the large number of customers, La Pasta's staff managed very well indeed. Pizzas were made to order in quick time, servers were friendly and helpful, and the pizza was excellent. There was a wide variety of toppings available, and we could purchase wine by the picher. Prices were reasonable. Not a posh restaurant by any means; but this is how pizzerias should be. Recommend wholeheartedly.

Whilst staying at the Ibis Styles and that not having an evening restaurant we were offered three discount vouchers (15%) to be used at either Leon,La Boucherie or Courtepaille on Monday 11th. My wife and I decided on Courtepaille and enjoyed our meal and attentive service. To start I had the Goat Cheese Terrine with Tomato Confit â¬5.90 (very good) and followed with the Nordic Salad::cos lettuce, grilled salmon, diced smoked salmon, tzatziki, tomato Confit and balsamic cream â¬16.70 (good) and for my wife 400g Cote de boeuf rib â¬23.90 with baked potato ( she thoroughly enjoyed it, flavour and cooked to perfection of rare to medium). To accompany our meal we had a large glass of Ventoux and Blanc â¬5.90 each. Their service was attentive, helpful and friendly and there is no service charge.

Just had an excellent meal. It's just up the road from Bourges Novotel. The food is traditional without being twee, and the staff are very friendly. We had pickled fish and mussels to start, followed by lovely duck confit and an apricot upside down cheesecake for afters. All the food was very tasty and felt very authentic. We would highly recommend this restaurant to any English or French in the area!
