This was recommended by the local hotel I stayed in as a good simple restaurant. I started with their 'salade norvege' and the dressing was so delicious I left the excellent salmon until last. My main course was 'fillet de boeuf' which was beautifully cooked 'sagnant' and also 'to die for'. The accompanying wine madame recommended was Chateauneuf de Pierrevert, Domaine La Blaque and was so good I bought a bottle to take away! Overall excellent quality and value for money.

I ordered a spaghetti bolognaise. There was a very little amount of sause, and fortunately there was quite a lot of parmesan cheese served with. The spaghetti was not very hot, and we were not quite happy with this choice of restaurant.

So plat du jour 12 euros seems fine. Basically steak and chips. Steak over cooked for medium, chips fine, green salad with dressing okay. No condiments offered. Nice location but fairly average on the whole. Plenty to choose from in the town so don't rush to the first place you see.

In the shadow of the seventieth century belfry, atop the church in Place Manual, this restaurant is one of the best in the Ubaye valley, in Barcelonnette in Haute des Alps Provence. Located in the Manual Place, named after the regionâs famous son Jacques- Antoine Manual, under whose image we dined one evening one of the most sumptuous meal that we ever had, on our recent trip. If you want authentic French cuisine and something out of the ordinary, then you must dine here. Although moderately priced, it is a delight to eat while watching the crowd or listening to the live music that often makes the square its venue and is visited by many bands during the summer. The staff was very friendly, helpful and the place was clean including its restrooms.

Ate here on our previous visit. Behind the Tourist centre, so don't miss it. A charming restaurant with a humungous great pizza oven. Very happy, friendly staff, I had lasagne and chocolate mousse, he had pizza and sorbet. It was all fabulous. A really lovely find

This was easily the best place I ate in Barcelonnette. Excellent food with genorous portions and good, friendly service even though they was very busy. Best to book in advance, even in midweek.

OK, we all have friends --- but reserving Tables in a bar alienates other potential customers -- and why we shall now avoid and tell the World. Makes absolute and perfect sense in their restaurant but not good for business in the medium term

However our expectations were very low when we walked in. Everything from that point went up Service, food and atmosphere were all good. Although I hate the smell of cooking on my clothes, otherwise it would be a 5.
