After a day at Puy du Fou, we searched Google maps for a pizzeria and found this one. We made a good choice going there. It was quite busy at the restaurant but we were seated in two minutes. The food we ordered was brought very fast as well, considering it was quite busy. The toppings of our pizza's were quite good and tasteful. Our deserts were quite delicious too. Prices are very reasonable.Staff was very helpful and our waitress was proud of us trying to order our meals in French, which actually worked out well :-)Would definitely go back again if I would be in the vicinity.Mister, thanck you for your avis, my english is not good but y understand your message it is the principal, see you soon. bye bye Bruno

We went for the pizzas which were very good. The best ones we tested at Les Herbiers :) The kids menu is the same as everywhere else (we went for French fries and burger meat), the meat was dry though :( They provided a high chair for our little one. The chocolate mousse for dessert was delicious. They also had a 3 meals course at 19.50 euros p.p. which looked great. Very good service.

Was staying in Ibis yards away tried this resturant for convenience. The clientele were local which was always a good sign. Despite our basic French and staff's little English we managed to decipher the menu. The beef was good and melted in your mouth. The minature selection of cakes on the sweet menu was delicious.Staff were friendly and tried to help us choose our food

For the price, we were surprised how limited the choices for food were. Also, we weren't told until we arrived that we only had an hour to eat and leave, and the queues were massive, full of the usual pensioners stacking their plates so high they couldn't move...Couldn't put a downer on our day out, but certainly didn't augment our experience.

Ok! When you enter a restaurant and there are diplomas on the walls..... Read them! I didn't, the rest of my party did, they got the best pizzas I have tried in years, I got a mediocre pasta :-/ You really must book a table if you can, it was completely full, with loads of take away orders coming in and people, in the end, eating on the terrace in the cold and rain - it was worth it! Highly recommend!thank you

Auberge du Mont Mercure

We made the 4+ hour drive from Caen to the Les Epesses region to go to Puys du Fou the next day, and made an advance booking after having found this restaurant (being the only Bib Gourmand selection) in the Michelin Guide. What a treat awaited us! The backdrop was spectacular - lush grass and vineyards stretching as far as the eye could see. The wines were so inexpensive it was like buying from a convenience store (but obviously 100 times the quality - we're talking Loire Valley wines after all). The food? We had the escargots (hands down the best escargots I have ever had), the pigeon and the veal. Just unbelievably divine and scrumptious. My wife literally had a look of rapture on her face over dessert. I'm not really a dessert person, until I found out that they had put a mango jelly in the parfait she was eating. And that essentially sums up this restaurant - they make heavenly food with the simplest of ingredients. Service was warm and sincere, which we have come to expect from the finest of the "local" restaurants in France. And of course, this being a Bib Gourmand restaurant, you are paying peanuts - just more icing on the cake. The absolute gastronomic highlight (and there were a number of them) of the trip.

There being a lack of any other options in this part of the park we ate lunch at La Rotissoire. My husband and I had the chicken with beans, which was actually very tasty and is meant to be traditionally rustic to go with the medieval theme. But the children's lunch boxes were the sort of thing you'd pay £4-5 for at a National Trust property or similar were hugely expensive, the contents were ok (sandwich, chocolate chip brioche, drink, fruit pouch) but not good value. And the drinks - 3 euro for a soft drink - were so expensive that the whole thing (2 adult meals with 2 drinks and three children's lunch boxes) cost us about £45!!!Can't fault the food or speed of service - it's a fast food take away style place with outdoor seating but we realised we should have packed a picnic! And that's what we'll do next time.

Having been fortunate enough to eat in some of the finest restaurants around, we did not expect the amazing experience we had when staying at the chateau last week. The staff are charming, the food, presentation and wines are sublime and we could fault absolutely nothing. We understand the chef is only 23 years old, but you would have thought it was from someone much more experienced. Watch out for Michelin star in this place soon! Every aspect of every dish was explained in full by the attentive and very knowledgeable staff. Clearly they loved their jobs......almost as much as we enjoyed the delights on the menu. Well done team, you should be very proud of your wonderful work. We will be back soon........promise :-)Dear SurreyBillJ,We thank you for your kind words about our restaurant and our staff. It is always a pleasure for us to know that our clients are satisfied by our services and "cuisine".We look forward to welcoming you back soon for more culinary aventures,Warmest regards,The Château Boisniard

What should have been a very nice break for a drink and ice cream was sadly marred by the fact that the service we received from the staff was very poor indeed. We were a group is 20 adults some disabled and some with learning difficulties, some others with Downs Syndrome. The staff took our order but when we asked for additional items we were not attended to.I speak fluent French and despite asking three times for some one from the waiting staff to order more food and drinks, we were ignored on each occasion.I even went up to the bar to ask for assistance and that received a poor reception too. This was a very poor demonstration of French hospitality and this together with one other incident at Le Puy du Fou put a blot on what was otherwise an excellent day.SHAME ON YOU !!!

Le Relais de Poste - Puy du Fou

Profitez d’un repas convivial accompagné par nos chanteurs entonnant les plus célèbres airs du XVIIIème siècle !

Reviewed By Dilbertfan

This is a restaurant on the park of the Puy du Fou itself where you have to reserve in advance, and the meal is a set menu (salad and pate, main course of duck, sausage, ham with flageolet and green beans, and a dessert of baked apple and cake followed by coffee or tea). There is red wine on the table and water, and there is a simple children's menu option. You will be seated at a large table, and you will have as neighbours people you don't know. But the atmosphere of the whole place is very easy going, and people are relaxed and happy. Your meal will be accompanied by bursts of singing between courses from trained staff who reel off old French songs that many of the diners will know, even if they don't quite remember all the words or are too shy to belt out!
