Excellent Crepes, good choice of wine and beers, full of locals and definitely worth a visit. Good outside seating area for watching the world go by.

Really nice regional food in Les Ulmes.. Heavily indebted to the patient waitress and another diner for compensating for our poor French and translating some of the menu for us. We were then treated to lovely meals that even satisfied two picky pre-teens. All very reasonably priced - well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Loved this place from the moment we walked in. The decor is resolutely Belgian with some eccentric displays (think typewriters on the wall, baskets hanging from the ceiling). The menu was equally varied. Burgers are made from chicken and pork mince - we were a little dubious, but they were so delicious! My son had what can only be described as a chicken sausage - but it was a hit too. The waffles were yummy! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Really great service. Everyone left very happy!

We ate at Le Dagobert on the recommendation of our hosts whilst staying in a chambre d'hôte nearby. This is a typical old French hotel-restaurant with an unprepossessing exterior but an excellent dining room. M. Sorin, the owner, is the chef and Mme. Sorin oversees the dining room. Although there are other menus, the â¬18 menu du jour is great value with choices of four starters and main courses, followed by cheese or dessert. Food is cooked to order, of a very high quality and excellently presented. There is an extensive wine list and also local Saumur white and red wine available in carafes. M. Sorin takes great pride in his cooking and at the end of the evening comes around to talk to diners about the dishes they have eaten. This restaurant was an excellent recommendation.

Ate here once in summer 2017 after THREE failed attempts when it wasn't open. This year on 16th August despite advertising opening hours of 19-21h it was closed - probably best to call them before going up Escalier St Pierre and in any event the pizze au feu de bois at Pizza Show takeaway is better ;-)

May Day isa very popular holiday in France and one in which most restaurants are shut down and the ones that are open are packed. With the help of La Fourchette and our Michelin Road Atlas, we estimated where we would be in transit and booked a table at this very congenial hotel-restaurant. In the U.S.A. I usually avoid hotel restaurants unless the city is under siege. In France, they can be very fine choices patronized by even more locals than transients. The Bienvenue certainly is welcoming, a charming and serious culinary way station on the outskirts of a small historical town. It has been our experience that Logis Hotels, independent and usually characterful, are often a place with a decent kitchen and a favorable relationship with their town or region. This restaurant, however, has a very serious and talented chef and a dedicated wait staff. The restaurant was packed on the holiday and deservedly so. The cooking, plating, wine list and overall service confirm that this is a venue with genuine excellence. We chose fish dishes, which were superb. It was quite clear that plenty of beef was also going to neighboring tables and bringing much satisfaction to other diners. For the level of sophistication, gracious service and attractive ambiance, the prices were very fair. We chose the restaurant because it suited our travel plans. Now that we know how good it is, we would consider it a culinary destination as well. While we did not thoroughly appraise the attached three star hotel, it would make a very good stopover while visiting nearby chateaux and vineyards.

Restaurant Les Nobis dâAnjou in Montreuil-Bellay near Saumur welcomes you for lunch and dinner from April to the end of September. Thierry and his team offer you a tasty traditional cuisine with seasonal products, served in a warm and friendly setting.
Better than average camping restaurants is the one at les Nobis. Fresh food, nicely served and good qaulity. Chapeau!

Fresh gourmet food and daily menus. Exclusively Loire wines menu (also to take-away). Catering service.
In this beautiful little village right next to the imposing church you find this pretty little restaurant that I believe is run totally by ladies. If you are seated in or ouside doesn't matter, both are very nice. The interior is charming with fun objects. The menu is limited with local produce, ecofriendly and not expensive. So are the wines. We had asparagus gaspacho which had a bit too much coriander, seems to be a favourite spice here. Then veal casserol, well prepared. We tried the bubbly and both read and white, maybe not top wines but fun and interesting. Dessert , a cake, was ok. Toilet was simple but clean. The service personal and fun. It felt maybe not like a rural authentic French restaurant but more like a place you could find in New York or Malmö in 2018. But a good place. Enjoy the visit.

Good food and good wine: here's what you get at the Bistrot de la Place! We serve fresh homemade food that you can choose off the "a la carte" menu or from our set menus. And if you're feeling peckish during the day, we also offer oysters, cured meat and
It was a nice spot in the town square. The service and prices were fine and there was a nice 3 course special. For the four of us, there were some things quite tasty and hot - the items on the special board. On the other hand, there were items that were not great - cold fish and poor quality steak. Thank you Regina for your message, we are sorry for your cold fish that we could ahave returned. Please let us know the next time if something is going wrong with any items. We hope to see you again soon.
