We found everything very good at this Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was Old World and lovely and the food was delightful! Service was excellent! We had the Flaming Creme Brulee' for dessert and it was a lot of fun. We fed a family of five with wine and dessert for less than 150 Euro. Prices for entrees ranged from 11 to 22 Euro.

We visited Auberge du Lac Noir whilst on holiday this year. Our party consisted on 2 adults and 4 children. The food and service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and accommodating and the price very reasonable. TThe Auberge is in a beautiful setting near the top of a mountain. Whilst we were there it seemed to be a great place for walkers to drop into.I would thoroughly recommend this Auberge to anyone visiting the area.

Diverse menu selection. Alsatian wines. Innovative desserts. All in a lovely setting of maybe 20 seats. Reservations required. Friendly husband and wife team are superb. No fixed price menus which was actually good for us as we were not looking for a formal dinner.

Let's discover this great restaurant where Pascal, the Chef, helped by his son, Benjamin, offers a generous and modern cuisine prepared principaly with local and fresh products.
Just experienced one of my best meal ever - six courses of excellently prepared food and the service was very forthcoming and outstanding as well. We had our dinner there as part of a package tour and even though the went the extra mile! Hello, thank you very much In hope to see you soon

We came for lunch and were blown away. It was such a lovely place and the food was excellent. We started with a glass of wine outside in the garden - really nice and relaxing. The 3-course meal in the restaurant was tasty and all the courses were beautifully presented. The price for lunch is 32 euros - and that is a bargain. With wine and coffee we paid around 100 euros and we will definitely come back next time we're in Alsace. We really recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant didn't look like anything special but the food was wonderful. I had a small bowl of vegetable soup, plate of smoked salmon, a wonderful and perfectly cooked fresh whole trout (very fresh), cheese, and a scrumptious cream cake. Tried two of the local wines by the glass. The Riesling was very good but the Pinot Gris was wonderful for cheese/dessert. I was very pleasantly surprised by the food at this hotel and the service was also friendly and professional. A real bargain.

We are a couple from New Zealand along with a couple from Belgium. We meet somewhere in France every two years and always try to find a great restaurant for our last night together. To find such a restaurant in a small village was a surprise to us. The food was superb. We were a little surprised the person serving us, having heard us speak English, presumed we didn't speak French. I have to say, she was right in my case, but not my husband, and of course our Belgium friends speak very good French also. However her English was excellent and she was very pleasant. It is good when hotel staff speak English, but it is also nice for us to try our French. Mind you they probably get annoyed when we don't speak it very well, but we feel it is polite for us to at least try.I had chicken with spatzle in a wine sauce, my husband had Red mullet, one of our friends had salmon and the other the local fish. Everything was cooked to perfection. It was a very nice meal to end the last night with our friends. A must to try if you are ever in Orbey.

We'd stayed here twice before and were always very happy with the meals, so after a 6 hour drive from Paris, we were really looking forward to dinner. Well, the folks on demi-pension are now offered a fixed 3 course menu. However, if you don't like the choices, you can pay 3 euros more and go with the 37 euro menu -- or more for a more expensive menu. We opted for the demi-pension offering of salade avec chevre chaude, entrecote of boeuf, and banana crepes with chocolate sauce, though one of us got the trois munsters instead of dessert, which they kindly substituted. All were nicely done, except for the beef. Instead of being on a par with rib, rib-eye, or Delmonico, it was right down there below the low-priced offerings of a chain steakhouse in the US. A fourth was gristle left on our plates (yes, it was consistent). We don't normally eat beef in France, so I don't know if this is typical of entrecote, but given that there's normally a 5 euro supplement for this offering, I doubt it. Our aperitifs and wine were quite nice -- cremant d'Alsace and a 2011 Saumur Champigny Les Tuffes, both reasonably priced. Our dinner the next night was very nicely prepared and presented: Foie gras de canard traditionnel, daurade with spaetzles maison, and tiramisou (my wife had the 3 Munsters again). With it we had a nice cremant from Ribeauville. Service was friendly & professional. I haven't downgraded them for the beef, because on the whole, they really do a wonderful job, but I felt I had to make the comment for those accustomed to steaks in the US. Next time I'd pay the 3 euros more and avoid the entrecote.

We followed a recommendation by a local resident to stop in here for lunch. No one spoke English so we took our chances by ordering the 3 course lunch special. Wow.. Did we get our $$$ worth. We thought salad was our entree it was so full of meats. Then we had a seafood stew followed by 3 delicious sorbets.Waiter was great, even with the language barrier!

Whilst the food we had here was perfectly adequate, our evening was completely ruined by the dreadful service and poor attitude shown by the waiting staff. We sat down and ordered at 7.20 and by 9.00, having had our starters, were still waiting for our main courses. When they finally came I expressed (politely) our dissatisfaction, but again we ended up waiting to have those plates cleared away and the offer of dessert. By this time it was too late and I eventually managed to catch the eye of the waitress who offered no apology and was really quite rude in her manner, She said they were busy (which they weren't), but in my experience and opinion, restaurants shouldn't have more covers than they can cope with, and should certainly be more polite when customers are understandably frustrated. The table next to us were having similar issues, and they also left without ordering dessert or more drinks.
