Que du bon, que du frais ! Chez Max est un restaurant traditionnel français dans le quartier de Lille centre. Nous vous proposons une cuisine de saison réalisée à partir de produits frais. Ambiance conviviale garantie midi et soir !
We were recommended this restaurant by the receptionist at our hotel. What a welcoming atmosphere and the food was fantastic. The onglet de veau was one of the best I have ever had. You have to try the pistachio meringue. It was the most fantastic dessert I have ever tasted. You have to try this place!

Our expectations were high after reading good reviews. The service was friendly and well paced. The menu although short was a little over complicated which resulted in rather muddled meals. The free pre starter was too heavy. Rather than a mix of salad and hot veg, some nice green beans would have been much better. The lamb dish was very disappointing. We really wanted to like it but did not deliver.

Bistronomy is the trend for restaurateurs to replace tablecloths and linen with wooden tables and a simple, loose service. The same goes for restaurant Les Ephérites, where classics of French cuisine are given a new look and merged with contemporary influences. Taste and composition of the dishes is very good. The menus offer a nice variety of meat, fish and vegetables, where possible organic and from the region. For lunch we had a four-course menu for 32 euros.

I start my review with the positive things. The place is charming, well decorated, and the food is very good. The restaurant has potential for being another excellent restaurant in the highly competitive Lille market. On the downside, there are plenty of room for improvement. For example, we waited almost one hour to get our meal, we have to ask one of the waiters for our order. We were so hungry that we did not take our time to enjoy the main course. Furthermore, we lost our appetite for a dessert after waiting so much. No apologies for the waiting time were provided. The menu is minimal, almost no explanation. The offer is limited to three dishes and prices scale fast. The quality of the service does not match the price range and the quality of the food served. The best part of our meal was the wine, which was the only thing we could properly enjoy.

The hardest part is perhaps the location and that's what led me to it in the first place.I organised a dinner for 14 and the restaurant's staff was super accomodating, adding space as people were coming unexpected (yes it happens more than you could think ok here in France).Pizzas, Pasta are all super fresh and no need to say that the pan of the pizza added with the fac that it was cooked in a real fire oven makes the difference.Even the wine selection was good enough to provide a good match with the food served.I dont have shares in that restaurant, i am just a mere customer that was just happy to find great food for a relatively cheap price in that area of Lille. You may also take away.

A group of friends travelled from England on Eurostar for a day trip to Lille. Lunch at La Criniere was the high point of the visit. We arrived late, because of our confusion about the time of the booking, but the host was very accommodating. He offered us very good local beer while we decided on our meal and we made our choices from the tempting food on offer. The food, from appetisers to dessert, was excellent, the wine very good, the service superb. After we finished he was able to recommend the perfect bar to find a good selection of micro-brewed beers. We had such a good experience that we will definitely return and we would recommend this fine bistro to anyone.

We enjoyed an excellent meal here and were very impressed with the personal touch with staff making an extra effort to understand our very limited French and helping with translation. The meal itself was very well presented, very tasty and good value for money.

We arrived without a reservation as we were passing and spotted if from the roadside. . We sadly speak very poor French. Yet the staff were very warm and welcoming. They found us a table and smiled kindly at our awful attempt to speak French. The food was delicious. Good sized well cooked meals. Very reasonable prices. Excellent service. . Served quickly. Very clean and very good atmosphere. Thank you so much for a lovely evening.

We were gifted a full degustation menu and it was just everything we could have hoped for. Portions were perfectly sized, scallops were the best we had fresh and seared in butter, fish (seabass) was melt in the mouth and the veal sweetbread with chanterelles was masterfully crafted. Dessert hit the stop with a very fresh note of mandarin and a seasonal touch of chestnut. Wine pairings were on point and very generous. Service was perfect as well, friendly and relaxed just how we like to be welcomed in a restaurant where the quality of food doesn't mean we're in for a stuck up night. We will definitely be back.Thank you so much

Went based on TA recommendations. Itâs a bit out of the way but we went to the canal basin first for a drink so it was about 16-20 minutes from there. Had the mixed croquettes to share to start then the pancook (bread with chicken, chorizo and lots of cheese sauce) and a carbonate. Tasty food which was quite rich. Managed to fit in pudding, fairly basic choice but tasty. Service was really friendly but the place filled up after we got there at 7:30 (by 8:40 they were turning people away). Cost was about 65 euros which included a glass of wine and coffee each. Iâd go again but make sure Iâd booked a table as itâs a fair distance and thereâs not much else around if it was full.Thank you so much Trave11er101 for this nice review. We are glad you had a nice experience with us! Hope to see you again soon. Indeed itâs better to book even if weâll always do our best to find a place for our guests. Le Pancook
