Bistrot du Coin in the charming village of Doussard just by the bottom end of Lake Annecy provides exactly what visitors to France look for - well-sourced, quality French produce, perfectly cooked and presented by the knowledgeable and enthusiastic chef patron, served by a friendly and helpful waitress at reasonable prices. France on a plate! What more could you want?

After a long walk today we headed to the restaurant expecting hearty rural food as per reviews on trip advisor. The setting was magnificent, as was listening to the constant ringing of cow bells throughout our meal. I had the mushroom tart which was small and had little flavour. It was accompanied by a salad of lettuce leaves and sundried tomatoes, certainly not a hearty meal. My husband had duck breast with mashed potato and a few mangetout.He said the flavour was good.I had the chocolate pudding which was not good and my husband's coffee was disappointing. The setting made it a great experience, but the food was not what other reviews led us to expect.

The menu is pretty standard - steaks, burgers, but with one or two nice little twists.For instance my burger came with two rosti cakes instead of bun and the cheese was a local Reblochon - quite delicious. The meat is sourced locally, too. We were in a hurry so perhaps did not do the place justice. They have a vast selection of rums from all over the Caribbean. Iâd be happy to eat there again. Good honest food, served quickly and with friendly staff.

Charming french hotel & restaurant with very welcoming owners and staff. I have eaten here many times and it never fails to please. It's just a pity that we have nothing like it here in Devon!

We dropped into the scenic restaurant on our self drive holiday . We are from Australia and speak very poor French ( which we always apologise for) , we had planned on having a meal at this restaurant until we over heard one of the male managers scolding the young waitress who had helped us in French/English ( so we could begin our order) he was reprimanding her for speaking English and we realised not only had we got her into trouble but this restaurant obviously didnât welcome tourists . If you donât speak fluent French I wouldnât recommend this restaurant , we found another with just as spectacular views who helped us with our broken French and were just lovely .

we took our hosts out for dinner and they chose this restaurant because they knew it. We met the chef on arrival. What a fantastic meal. Totally authentic French taste and beautifully presented and served. Wines were good too. Would definitely return here if we could. It is also an inn and I would say to anyone that it is great.

The pizza are ok but nothing special. The lemon tart "maison" consists of a ready made case filled with lemon cream and covered with marshmallow, nothing home made. The service is poor. I called the restaurant few days later to enquire about a lost property. I was put on hold for 5 minutes (while calling with a uk mobile) and then answered by a very rude member of staff. Try somewhere else.

Les Trappeurs is our favourite restaurant in Savoie, the cozy warm chalet is very beautiful and traditional, they serve Savoyade traditional dish, personally I like Fondue the most, but other dishes like tartifette, meat grill, everything is nice. The restaurant is located at albertville and just 10 min drive up there, great for family, couple and friend, they are always full, need to make a reservation in advance.
