We went back again and tried new exciting dishes. Pressed beef and artichokes ravioli were great starters, followed by foie gras topped sirloin steak and pork fillet with puree. Their strawberry chocolate globe and cherry mousse were enchanting desserts, full of tasty surprises. We were lucky enough with the weather and dined on the terrace. Great service as usual and very romantic atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.

We enjoyed a Sunday lunch here with friends and I must say that the location is amazing right by the river. I chose a pizza which was beautifully cooked and my colleagues had either an omelette or the duck which they thoroughly enjoyed. This restaurant is really bit of a gem and we will go back.

Perfect location beneath the splendid Chateau within a delightful medieval (?) square this tastefully finished restaurant with interesting decor and artwork for sale provided a splendid lunch that was served by an utterly hard working, pleasant maitre d'. Starter of fish tartare was served with a simple salad and the dressing was stunning. (Local walnut oil perhaps?). We both enjoyed the pavé of veal served with a delicious sage sauce and potato rosti that was delicious despite appearing over cooked. Both courses went very well with the Bergerac rosé. Walnut cake dessert and exquisite coffee finished it off well. Too good to miss, service, ambience and food of the highest standards.

Couldnât have been more enjoyable. Unusually for me, I particularly liked the service. What charming people. Gracious, professional and welcoming. Water topped up when needed, more bread arrived just at the right time and overall attention was spot on. Yes, liked the food too. We sat on the terrace and soaked in the local atmosphere. After lunch we ambled around the chateau. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

We stopped in this beautiful village today and had lunch at the Bistro Le Passage. Lunch was fantastic and great value. Our waitress spoke English and was lovely. Great lunch - the. Eat and most reasonably priced that we have had so far. Would definitely recommend a stop here.

Have been here several times - the food is always good and there is lots of variation with dishes made in house. The owner speaks fluent English and will recommend wine if you ask. Check the opening times as they do not open every day.

Eaten at this Restaurant many times and watched the owner /Chef grow into a competent Chef. The Foie Gras prepared by Nathalie is excellent, the Garlic soup, one of the best and duck is always good of course and the Sirloin steak a firm favourite. Sauté potatoes in large supply are always tasty. Cheese board gives a good selection and the Desserts are tasty, some better than others! Carafe of wine always good value... they have a great outside Patio now which is quite enclosed and therefore keeps cosy on cooler nights. All good service and friendly atmosphere, parking at the back is usually available. Canbe fully booked at lunch time so need to book.

We have been staying near Excideuil for three years and always admired the terrace of this hotel/restaurant.We were a party of five and were welcomed by the waiter ,who turned out to be english and was very understanding about our stumbling french efforts.I chose a salad (imaginaire) which had local foie-gras ,goats cheese and a very good mix of other ingredients. I really enjoyed it .The rest of the party had steak which was cooked as requested and was well received .A very nice evening .

We've recently got married in the area and therefore travelled to Excideuil three times. The first two times were out of season (Feb 15 and Apr 16) and this was the only place in the area we could eat. We also visited in May 16 with 100 wedding guests and a number of these people also visited. The menu is simple and the food is good and I would recommend this to couples or families. They also do take away pizza which is a great little advantage.thank you for your comments, look forward seeing you soon. take care, Serge

Small tearoom in the historic centre of Excideuil. Come in for a coffee or Pukka tea with one of our cakes and stay for a light lunch on the terrace. Everything is home made from fresh products, we even have a selection of gluten free products. Don`t forg
Visited several times during our holiday for breakfast and lunch. Made to feel very welcome, had fabulous coffee. Limited menu but fresh and home made. Marjoleine has the magic touch to create a friendly cosy ambience where all are made to feel at home. Thank you for leaving your review. A great compliment to read that you felt at home, it is the ambiance I hoped to be able to create, a place away from home. I do hope to see you again someday! Marjoleine
